TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9

THE FLASH

"Welcome to Earth-2" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

BARRY VISITS EARTH-2 - Barry (Grant Gustin), Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) journey to Earth-2 to rescue Wells' daughter, Jesse (guest star) from Zoom. Barry is stunned when he runs into Earth-2 Iris (Candice Patton) and Joe (Jesse L. Martin), but nothing prepares him for meeting Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) and Deathstorm (guest star Robbie Amell). Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) has to take over the Flash's responsibilities when a meta-human nicknamed Geomancer (guest star Adam Stafford) attacks Central City. Millicent Shelton directed the episode written by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and Katherine Walczak (#213). Original airdate 2/9/2016.

The portal jump was amazing!! That was Supergirl, Arrow and Flash from the 90's right?

And the last 3 easter eggs in the portal were Grodd, Hex and Legion of Superheroes?

The Supergirl tease was nice. I went through in slowmo. Arrow was played by a black male. Yes it was '90s Flash, Grodd, Hex and the Legion.

Pretty sure it was current Supergirl.

Mayor Snart?

Deadshot? Holy shit. This is the greatest episode ever.

Evil Cisco was awesome.

Yeah, I know it was the current Supergirl. I was referring to Flash being John Wesley Shipp from the 90's. That opens to maybe seeing Shipp don the red costume again. Although...

Spoiler:

He may be Zoom for all we know. We saw that Joe was a musician who died on tonight's episode and Barry is a CSI nerd/geek. I don't know who else Zoom could be now. I think all signs point to him being Zoom.

Iris from Earth 2 actually showed chemistry with Barry. The only thing that annoyed me (that it has throughout the whole season) is the other Earth 2 villains not defending themselves from Zoom. Earth 2 Cisco seem pretty powerful. Same with Deathstorm. Why hasn't any of them defended themselves against Zoom. If they know they are dying, at least go out fighting.

That was awesome!

I'm surprised they brought back Lawton in any capacity considering Suicide Squad is in the wings.

Also, I'm kind of disappointed that the Justice Society wasn't on the mural on the wall of the police station.

Earth 2 Cisco, Reverb, should have been able to counter or nullify Zoom's attack with his vibration control I would think. Then again, maybe he did and is just playing possum.

Re: The Flash (S2E13) -- "Welcome to Earth-2" -- 2/9/16

Barry is such an idiot. He's supposed to be 'undercover' as his Earth 2 doppelganger, and he keeps giving himself away. It's a good thing Iris 2 is even more dense than Barry.

"Wow, Iris, our house is so nice!" (This is where 'you' live, Barry.)
"I didn't know Joe could sing!" (Yes, Barry, 'you' probably DO know that, since you're married to his daughter and it appears he sings in that club regularly.)
"This is my good friend, Cisco." (Your good friend who works at STAR Labs, whom you've never even mentioned before to your wife?)

Sheesh, Barry, take some acting lessons or something, in case you have to do this again.

Yeah, during this episode I was thinking, "Can we trade our Iris for Iris 2?"

So here's a photo from Earth 2 Barry's Speed Dial

Spoiler:

Obviously, is a nod to Bruce Wayne, Diana Prince, Eddie Thawne and Hal Jordan. Still, isn't it a little weird that Barry still knows 3 of these guys and has them on his speed dial? Maybe, geeky, nerdy Barry Allen from Earth 2 is hiding something, especially with Iris being so dense.

Any easter egg characters in the cells at the end? I saw a guy with a weird helmet and one other person. Neither seemed recognizable.

The guy with the weird helmet kind of looked like Diggle to me.

Lots of DC easter eggs in this episode but I wasn't feeling it as much as I expected. I hope they don't give Cisco those powers in any permanent capacity. Arrow started its decline when every character started becoming a superhero...

The other prisoner in there with Barry was obviously MF Doom, the rapper.

Awesome episode. Kinda bugged me that everybody was giving themselves away, but otherwise it all worked eventually. Seeing the alternate versions of everybody, and their reactions, made the bad spy work forgivable. Reminded me of those first few alternate universe Fringe episodes.

Still think Zoom is Joe, even if he is from Earth 3+.

So if all 52 portals are to Earth-2 and Barry closed 51 of them, how does he have access to other Earths where heroes like Supergirl exist?

Not a comic reader but I think Flash can still travel to other earths with his speedforce. I think they were trying to show that when he travelled to Earth 2 and we saw the other Earths in the portal.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a little too premature to do all that. Not to mention him closing all of them and then of course the only one they have left open has an issue and closes and may lead them to be stuck there.

I'm not sure he would have to travel to another Earth to run into Supergirl. Seems like it would be more like the Arrow cross overs where he just runs to another city. No doubt put there to align with the cross over episode that will happen next month.

At least for now, the crossover will be one-way only. While it’s likely at least in part a matter of budget (Supergirl is more expensive than The Flash), we’ve been told by sources close to the two shows that the in-universe reason is that Barry Allen/The Flash (Gustin) is able to cross dimensions while, at least for now, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) cannot. Before fans cry foul, that’s keeping with the current storyline on The Flash, which deals with the aftermath of a dimensional rift opened between “Earth One” and “Earth Two” that is connected to The Flash’s super-speed superpowers.
http://deadline.com/2016/02/supergir...ch-1201695796/

So that explains why Barry (or Oliver) never mention or even nod to the existence of Supergirl or Superman.
