Sooooo.....
The origin of this "illness" is from director F.W. Murnau, which he learned about while doing research for the movie Nosferatu.
But they're not vampires. Riiiiiiiiight.
Ah, who cares. It's still fun and porn-y.

Was the girl getting hit by the truck the end of the episode? I can't tell if my recording caught it all.

I'm confused. So, the actor playing Tristan is also Valentino ... does this mean that once Tristan was killed that it allowed for his past life (Valentino) to return?

Finn Wittrock is just playing multiple roles here.
Director of this episode was Michael Goi, who also directed the harrowing film Megan is Missing. This was his second ep of the season I believe.

No, Valentino was just locked up inside the walled-up space in the hotel. Since he's a (not) vampire, he survived for 90 years.

So will that allow Liz to fall in love with Valentino?
Seems like there would have to be a reason to have the same actor play two roles instead of just using a different actor. Or am I missing something?
Overall, I'm liking this season - certainly is keeping me wondering where they are heading.

Holy shit, I didn't even realize that was the same actor. Wtf is my problem?
Well that definitely answers why Gaga was so upset about Tristan and Liz.

Loved the vampire stuff in this episode. I do like how Murphy uses real people for some of the AHS storylines. But I didn't care for the stuff with the ongoing John storyline.

Do the vampires have superstrength? They seem to take down their victims easily.
And can someone remind me why the real estate agent was staying in the hotel? Doesn't she live nearby near the murder house?

If I recall the Countess said their only gift is immortality. Super strength isn't a perk as these "vampires" can be killed by conventional means.

Yet Valentino and Natacha, covered in blood, head over to a room with three Australian men. I'd expect the vampires to get their asses kicked.

So now they are recycling actors in different roles in the same season? It's confusing enough that all the dudes look like Matt Bomer anyway. It's weird that I just realized the actor who played Tristan was Dandy last season & now he's dead & replaced by Valentino.
And what was the point of the girl? And where did Liz Taylor go? I can feel my annual AHS fatigue creeping in. Oh well, at least it's not boring.

I wonder if Valentino's likeness will be mentioned. I think that's her motivation for killing Tristan.

Shock factor, and fear probably got the best of those guys and they were caught by surprise? If super strength is part of the gift, it's maybe something that isn't known to them or maybe their strength is augmented? Hard to say really, but if I had to guess just by what is show, I'd say its an underplayed gift. Those kids in the school did a number on the adults for being only children...
