I'm five episodes in and I like that even though Jones is strong, she's not actually that good of a fighter. She's decent but it's clear she's had little to no training.
Tennant is of course fantastic.

She tends to play kind of ditsy girl roles or at least that's all I've seen her in the last few years. So was not really sure she could pull off a darker sort of character. I guess I forget that's just [cue Jon Lovitz's SNL character] acting.
anyways.. 3 eps into the show, really good so far. I should be rationing out the show a few eps a week. Yet odds are I'll death march past it all this weekend and just go back to bitching about not having something I want watch. sigh
it's like Netflix put out some food with a sign going "For lunch the next couple of weeks". but no..... it's just going to be nom nom nom nom nom right now.

Watched the first two episodes and think the show is great so far. I loved how the had lite moments and dark moments. The acting is pretty good all around. The guy playing Luke Cage is great.

4 eps in. Really liking it so far, but I'm still not 100% sold on Ritter. She's not doing bad, but I think they could have done a better job casting. She might turn me around, I'll have to wait and see how I feel at the end.

If nothing else, she rocks those jeans most effectively.

What was the average budget per show compared to Netflix's Daredevil?

Yeah. I saw that. I was wondering who the fuck Trish was. It was cuz I don't call her Trish. I know her as Patsy Walker and such.

The producers wanted Carol Danvers but since there's a "Captain Marvel" film somewhere down the line, Marvel gave them Patsy Walker. I've only watched the first ep, so I was wondering if "Trish" was actually "Patsy".

I havent had a real chance to sit down and watch. But my wife has been binging on it and she loves it. She is totally into this series. She said she can relate to the female lead character.

End of the first episode was pretty shocking and sold me. Just finished the second episode and hooked on seeing how Kilgrave develops - sounds like it's pretty awesome.

I'm never sure if I actually like that character in her normal attire. She's a fun one in dialogue but never never really cared for her in the suit kicking ass and all that

I love how Marvel brings lesser-known characters into these shows. Apparently Trish was a comic book character before Marvel even existed. Here's the Wikipedia Article about the character, but it contains spoilers about the direction they might go with the character at some point.

A very good show, but I don't feel the need to binge this. It seems this could work stronger if I treat it like a weekly show....And after 4 episodes, I think I'll do just that.

I;m a few episodes in
I am enjoying it but not as much as Daredevil so far. Luke Cage is the best thing so far
The main actress i have seen in other shows and that stereotyping hasn't worn off yet in this Jessica role

i like the intro to the show, i like the jazz-y feel of the music and the character's choice use of profanity. sometimes i think how well krysten ritter is doing with a dramatic role (never saw her in BB) and other times i think how much i want to lick her armpit. i think the show conveys sexuality very well without having to show nudity, and find it as explicit as the pilot of you're the worst, which is a good thing.

I watched the first 3 episodes and liking it a lot. Great cast and compelling story so far. My only complaint are the weird upstairs neighbors who feel out of place.

Watched episode 1 last night. I also liked it a lot. Pretty dark and the ending was a surprise.
Thought Ritter was good as Jones. She works as a smart ass reluctant hero.

I'm currently on the last episode as I type this.
Really good show and I had my doubts about Krysten Ritter in a lead role, but I think she did a great job. Mike Colter was also great as Luke Cage and I'm really looking forward to his show in several months. David Tennant, as always, is great. In fact, the cast is pretty strong in this one. Carrie-Anne Moss is kind of wasted, but I don't blame that on her as much as the writing. Also nice to see Rosario Dawson reprise her role from Daredevil.
All in all, it's a very good noir show with super powers. I liked Daredevil better, but this was almost as good. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now my favorite thing ever...

I finished last night, and I just couldn't have loved it more. I really just adored Krysten Ritter in the role, just perfect casting I adored her in this role. I am now sad that I don't have any more episodes to watch. Why must I binge these things? I have no self control.
I give the show props for dealing with how people deal with real life trauma in a responsible way. Sure, we don't all have super powers, but Jessica's struggles seemed very real. Excellent.
Can't wait for the Luke Cage show. Him being bored to death in a bar fight was awesome.

I'm not a Marvel guy but I'm digging this show, the tone/atmosphere is fantastic. I think Ritter is doing great so far. Right mix of sleezy, dark and humor.
Plus they made a scene where a guy burns out a circular saw on his abs meaningful without being super cheesy, that takes Skil.

Re: Marvel's Jessica Jones (Netflix) - Season 1 Discussion Thread - 11/20/15
I'm on E9 now. Almost finished w/ it.
I'm actually really fucking engaged in the drama here. I like my heroes beating the crap out of people but w/ the lack of ass kicking compared to DD... it's actually more interesting because it's so much more than something like DD or the other Marvel stuff.
Once again... another Marvel Netflix show that beats the ever living fuck out of AoS. AoS really really has no need to still be alive. It's a waste of money. Netflix Marvel is better than the WB DC stuff and AoS.
They just create characters that feel real. None of that Network BS style of character that have no depth.
Tennant is all kinds of awesome. He really really elevates The Purple Man from the comics. Add in... this show adds a level of darkness to the Jessica and Kilgrave relationship. What was in the comics directly for them only taken as far as it was... this show takes it one step forward and showing how fucked it up got/gets for them.
I really really dig the style in narrative they chose for this. I'm really interested to see how it goes by the end.
Whatever the film side is fucking up on scripting their villains, they need to fix by talking to the Netflix guys. Cuz Fisk and Kilgrave are immediately great characters. And it's not just the actors playing them. Which is what the Loki character has... cuz it ain't the scripts that make Loki great.
This a great mesh of scripting and casting for the baddies.
I enjoyed the 2 sweet christmas moments. Nice that they put that in there.
Also Frank Simpson...oooooh. That's some ugly teasing right there. That fucking character.
