Yup, you really can't have it both ways. People were complaining that programming/subscribing to TV is too expensive and they want only to pay for what they watch. Well, this could very well be the start of things to come. You might as well consider this watching Star Trek a la carte like what Amazon does for many shows. And just because CBS All Acess has it as an exclusive, it doesn't mean it will stay there forever. All programming has different licensing rights and aren't online indefinitely.
Subscribing to individual shows a la carte and also being pressured to subscribe to 6-8 different streaming services is not cheap.
What's to stop AMC, TNT, FX, NBC, FOX from creating individual premium streaming services with exclusive content in the years to come?

I think we're going to see content providers try all sorts of different models and gimmicks before the market sorts itself out.
The prime universe is the one in which Enterprise, TOS, TNG, DS9, and Voyager take place.

Sort of wish this was going to Showtime so they could do what they wanted, CBS shows are way too similar for CBS to not have a hand in that.

God, man, and I was just staring to like you . The "Prime" universe is the main one in which every canonical Star Trek series took place prior to the Abrams reboot. The Abrams reboot is an "alternate reality." The universe where everyone, including Spock, is evil called the Mirror Universe. I am tremendously disappointed in you, man .

Count me as another that ideally would like this series to be a next generation from the events of The Next Generation following the adventures of a new Enterprise and its crew. Either that or the Worf or Riker spinoffs would be cool, but I doubt either of those will ever happen.

I am also concerned that they will do what everyone is fearful of, setting this in the recent alternate universe. I can see the bulb over Kurtzman's head, lighting up at the thought of introducing a new crew on the TV show and having them take over the movie universe when the current movie cast is done.

As for Prime universe versus Abramsverse, I don't care as long as the show is good. I'd prefer Prime universe since we have the movies to explore the Abramsverse, but if it's good, it's good.

Worf and Riker start a private detective agency. At the end of the series they reveal it was all a holodeck simulation.

As far as the Prime Universe versus Abramsverse I'd much prefer if things were kept in Prime. I don't love the Abrams films enough that I want them to be the basis for Trek going forward personally.

Would prefer the Prime Universe, but will watch whatever.
As for the episodes, i'm sure that each one will be on youtube within hours of becoming available.
This is Star Trek afterall. Someone will upload them.

If so, that seems like a pretty poor mirror.

The pics are a little bit old, because as it turns out they've been working on this thing for a while. So don't look for anything recent.

Well at least they are not bullshitting about why they are using Trek

Too bad they didn't choose to bolster their Showtime channel with it. I already subscribe to it.
