That opening with Blair Underwood slayed me. Probably the best scene this show has done in a long time.

Disappointed that the Kings couldn't come up with a stronger final season. Feels like the show is being run by someone else entirely.

The case was throwaway, but I always like seeing Anna Camp.
I'm interested in seeing what happens with the firm and with Peter.

Interesting meeting between Jason and Peter. I liked how Jason took the higher road. Though don't these people text? Still, I especially loved Alicia walking into Peter's office the way she did.
By the end of the ep, is seems like they're going back and reinforcing the title of the show, her still having to be the "good wife" even through a divorce.

I did love how She told Peter she wanted the divorce...
I also forgot that Peter was actually in Prison at the start of the show.

Last night's show was pretty entertaining. I was laughing at the whole Canadian NSA spying on the US NSA thing.

"Your Worship"
I loved all the "Canada is better than America" jibes. But I couldn't stop thinking of that actress as the SecState from House of Cards.
I really like Jeffrey Dean Morgan as an actor, but that role is terribly written and I can't wait for him to get tired of Alicia and leave.
Looks like Peter is going to prison. Again.

So at this point, what is left to resolve?
Alicia's role in the firm
Alicia's relationship with JDM
What happens to Peter

Last week's party was an efficient way to kiss off a whole bunch of characters at once.
One episode left, and I'm interested in seeing what happens with Peter, though I don't really care about Jason. The construction shenanigans were just comic relief, I suppose, but I wonder why the workers' company wasn't liable for screwing up the job.

Yeah, that construction bit was eye-rolling bad. I kinda work in construction, and seeing guys just walking in, with zero set up, while people are actually using the room and just start hammering down the walls as if it's an open construction zone really bothered me. And yes, that construction company who made that mistake would be totally liable for the fuck up, to the point that their insurance would be used, not the law firm's.

Maybe not. The episode ended with Peter stating that he was going to take hte pleas agreement, and then they get notification that the jury is back with a verdict. I'm betting that they will get to the courthouse and offer to take the plea, and the prosecutor will refuse stating "that offer was open until the verdict was in - we're going with the verdict". The verdict will be "not guilty." Take that, Mr. Smarmy McProsecutorface!

Just binged the last three eps and I'm enjoying most everything except the scenes involving Lucca, the mom, the guy with the dog, and Jason. They're total drags, and they're taking screen time away from old favorites like Diane, Cary, and Eli.
And the send-off of the son was super lame.
Was a treat seeing Michael J. Fox again.
This season overall has been a huge letdown, mainly due to the new characters, but these last handful of eps have felt especially brisk and thoughtful.
Guessing there will be a last second twist where Jason somehow discovers something to exonerate Peter.
Going to miss Diane, Cary, and Eli the most. This might be the longest-running show I've seen every episode of, so Sunday will certainly be bitter sweet.

Well that was a weird ending.
I mean, I guess I wasn't expecting a "happy" ending, but they left things up in the end as if it were a season finale instead of a series finale. And the end sequence in the hallway, from Alicia going after Jason to Diane slapping her, seemed very dreamlike, more dreamlike than the Will segments did.

Wow, can't believe it's over.
Binged the final 4 episodes tonight. Very ambiguous ending. Alicia didn't get the happy ending with Jason and Diane/Kurt became collateral damage to save Peter.
The ending was kind of a throwback to the Pilot, especially with the slap from Diane. I guess they purposely intended Alicia's "ending" to be open for interpretation.
It was nice to see Josh Charles again. I guess they wanted to give Alicia some closure in her relationship with Will even though it was all her imagination.

Here's a 5 minute video from The King's explaining the finale.
Read an interview with Julianna. She says she's done with working on a network TV show. She said 22 episodes per season was exhausting for her. She's taking a lot of time off and may consider a short cable season if the right script comes along.
Congrats to everyone on this forum who stuck with this show, especially a network TV show, for all 7 seasons and all 155 episodes. I know that's not an easy feat in this day and age, especially with so much content on the air. I think it ended up being worth the ride.

It was a very ambiguous ending. I hated the Jason storyline, but the rest was ok. I thought Peter was going to be acquitted.

I agree with AV Club's review.
Alicia becoming "the victimizer" doesn't make much sense to me, and her reasons for throwing Diane under the bus didn't make much sense either. It was too forced.
But then the show never really recovered from the season after Josh Charles left.
[the show's] propensity for fun while still delving into darkness is really what set it apart. Its “End,” however, is quite dour.

I look at it this way and I think I get the same impression from watching that video from the King's. The show is called The Good Wife. Alicia's loyalty to Peter sacrificed her personal happiness with Will and then Jason. And it also damaged her personal relationships with Cary and then Diane. Being The Good Wife ended up having repercussions. Yes, it was dour and there wasn't a true sense of closure.
