I figured they would have Bernie get pregnant soon. Took longer than I figured, but at least I'm gald they finally went there. Wouldn't be surprised if they have the Penny character thinking about having one after hearing about Bernie.

Anyone remember the old Honeymooner's episode where a pet rabbit died, and when Ralph heard that he thought Alice was pregnant?

Well before they were married, Howard wanted kids and Bernadette didn't. Based on next week's promo (and her happy talk with Mr. Bunny) it seems those roles have completely reversed.

About next year and the contracts expiring of the actors.. This is a pretty humble group of folks who, even after 200 episodes, are really enjoying what they are doing. I don't think any of them are ready to go. I wouldn't expect another 3 year sign though.

So is Raj the most pathetic character of all time?
I think the show has really gone down hill over the last few years going into the "Friends copy" mode, but the counter to that is the character development which I can appreciate, but don't care for to the extent they have taken it on this show.
Anyway, the Raj character has always been pretty bad, but this took it over the top IMO. You know they will inevitably give him a happy life, but it's going to feel really forced at this point. The one and done dropping his girlfriend and spending a good part of the prior episode with the other girl is a lot of filler.

That's funny bc I felt his douchebaggery heel turn happened when he first met Emily -- where Amy was trying to help him get the date with Emily and he's a complete asshole to her (Amy).

And that's what I mean. They are trying way to hard to overwrite him. He started from.. is he gay or not in the beginning, can't talk to women unless he's inebriated.. is he still gay or not... to throwing several decent girls at him and his weird turns are all over the place, plus his parents -- which will probably all just go away with a happy ending.

Maybe they don't want to budget an eighth regular cast member, so Raj got stuck going through a bunch of recurring guest stars.

They definitely seem to be confused at what to do with Raj, but I hope this break up with Emily means they have an idea for him going forward.
Baby stuff was predictable, kind of weird that it happens as just a throwaway line to a bunny.

In a way, it would be funnier if Amy was the one that was pregnant. Of all 4 guys, have Sheldon be the one to be a father first. Have it be that for all his OCD, he totally forgot protection.

count me among the people who were surprised it took this long for Bernadette to get knocked up. I was expecting it in the episode where Stuart moved out and Howard and Bernadette were wondering what to do with the empty room.

Yeah, but the show is not so much about the humor anymore. The relationships and character growing have taken over the last few seasons. The humor factor is lower on the list than it used to be.

I find it strange that the guys are fans of Battlestar Galactica but don't mention that Raj's new flame looks like the actress from Caprica. :-)

Although progress is inevitable, having everyone in relationships when the premise of the show was all about these nerdy guys that can't find women is a detriment. I think they need to keep one guy a perennial loser.

Guess people aren't that excited about the news?
Next episode is the 200th episode party which is explained away as Sheldon's birthday party.. but really it's a cast party with some celebrities to keep things fun. Everyone's in this one even Leslie Winkle (who's on good behavior).

Howard was always the really weird creepy one. Now they've thrown that to Stewart. Bernadette is best when she's being real timid then yells real forcefully. If they sweeten her up too much being a mom it will really kill the dynamic of what they've built with those two.

Haven't seen the full season but caught last night's episode. I thought there were some decent moments particularly the guys at the bar and the end where they were singing to Bernadette. I understand why they're adding a baby to the show but at the same time I sort of wish it wasn't happening. I guess the show has been on a decline to me for a while anyways though and I wouldn't be surprised if it ends after the contracts for the main cast are up.

I still welcome that changes that will likely come with them having children. But that episode had some real bad moments. Most of them having to do with Howard. He always has been my least favorite of the main cast.

It really felt like the episode was really light on story. They seemed to just kill the last 5-7 minutes of it by throwing in some karaoke filler.
