Married (FX) - Season 2 Discussion Thread - premieres 7/16/15
Season 2 of the comedy series Married will air on FX on Thursdays at 10:30 PM e/p, beginning July 16. Married is a half hour comedy about a couple who are happy they have each other to blame. Russ (Nat Faxon) and Lina Bowman (Judy Greer) have changed almost everything about themselves in order to be responsible parents, but once in a while they find time to remind each other of who they used to be. The show also features Russ and Lina's circle of friends who include: the divorced AJ (Brett Gelman), who is trying to chart his next move after a lost year of addiction; the May/December couple of Jess (Jenny Slate) and Shep (Paul Reiser), who are finding that age isn't the greatest challenge in their relationship; single mother Abby (Sarah Burns) whose desperate need for approval keeps getting her in trouble; and the enabling Bernie (John Hodgman) who's always willing to go along for the ride. Married was created by Andrew Gurland, who serves as Executive Producer/Showrunner/Director, alongside Executive Producers Peter Principato and Paul Young. Married is produced by FX Productions.

I enjoyed the first season. Plus I'll watch anything that Judy Greer is in. Love her.

Man I had a tough time watching the end of last season. Surprisingly, Jenny Slate is the reason I kept tuning in.

I thought the first season was pretty mediocre, but I have nothing else to watch over the summer so i'll tune in.

Hell, I'll watch Judy Greer in a Sprint Framily commercial, but I couldn't make it past three or four episodes of Season 1. Did they ever end up having sex again? Because that seemed like all the show was interested in exploring.

I will probably watch the first few to see if it got any better.

I did finish season 1, but Lina and Russ were probably two of the most miserable people on TV. I can see why most here didn't enjoy season 1.

Well, you know, I was about to ask my girlfriend if she wanted to get married. Thank god this show came back on the air to remind me that Marriage is god awful and I never want anything of it.

Not much to talk about. OK 1st episode. I just love watching a Thanksgiving themed episode in the middle of July.

The opening scene was the best part.
This show definitely isn't for everyone, but I enjoy it.

I think this season has been great, and I binge watched to catch up on the last few episodes. If this seasons eps were paired up with last seasons eps of You're the Worst, folks on this board would have been a lot more impressed with the show. Or at least would have agreed that it was nearly as good as You're the Worst, which was a lot more fun to watch than I thought it would be (it was a pleasant surprise that I did not outright loathe any character on the show).

I liked the first season, but I've only gotten through 2 episodes so far this season. It's rough. Not enjoying it much at all.

Just getting caught up with Married. Watched episode 6
Nice sex scene with Judy Greer. Didn't realize she was a screamer.
This show IMO is more quirky than funny. I am enjoying Russ and Lina's scenes more than season since they aren't as miserable as they were last season.

Just a note that this is now on at 10pm instead of 10:30 for the last few episodes. Check your DVRs.

Catching up on some episodes this morning.
Though I miss Jenny Slate, I think these are pretty good episodes. I don't expect this to be a show where I laugh much, but I'm not ROTFLMAO at Louie either.
I can see where Married would have trouble attracting viewers. Faxon and Greer's dissatisfaction and disappointments play a little too real.

The show definitely is a bit of a bummer. It shares some qualities with Louie in that respect and that some aspects can be a little too realistic - but Louie is crazier and can be really strange and different, but can also make you really laugh. I think the most Married got out of me was a chuckle.
I find the leads very whiny - and even some of the other characters... which makes them unlike-able.
Add that to the fact that it's not very funny and can be boring - I find it weird that I'm still drawn to watching this. It's not something I'm excited to watch, but I watch it anyway flaws and all. I'm not sure if that says something about the show or me.

Caught up with this season and actually enjoyed it more than the first season. Too bad that Jess is gone, but I only liked her in small doses. Hate AJ. Like Paul Reiser's character, despite really not being a fan IRL.

There won't be a season 3.
Even though I watched every episode I will not miss this year. It never really clicked.

It just wasn't funny despite how much everyone wanted it to be. Truthfully, it peaked with the season one previews.

Wait, it was suppose to be funny?
I always thought it was a cautionary tale on why you shouldn't get married. Season 1 was a bit of a downer, season 2 picked up a little more for me. I enjoyed it far more than I did season 1 for some reason. Oh well, not going to miss it too much anyway.
Just don't fuck with You're the worst, Fox.
