Re: Game of Thrones (S5E10) - Season Finale - "Mother's Mercy" - 6/14/15

Anyone else think this finale kind of sucked?

It was really nothing but a bunch of cliffhangers... Did Brienne kill Stannis? What's up with Dany and all the Dothraki? What of Sansa and Theon? Marcylla?

Give us some resolution, and some meat for next season.

As soon as Olly came in with news about Benjen I knew the appearance in the preview was a fakeout because I knew what was coming next.

So I reckon we're all caught up with the books now, save for the Iron Islands business and LSH (which probably isn't happening).

Do you think Stannis could still be alive? With the show's willingness to show gore, I hate when they cut away like that and leave you hanging.
Well, if you don't mind spoilers...
Spoiler:
yes, Theon and Sansa (Jeyne Pool in the books) survive the drop.

It was the Hound last season finale, and now Stannis. Maybe the writers haven't figured out if they want them to be alive or not, so they don't show their death.

I'd say most shows with a continuing storyline end their seasons on cliff hangers.

Honestly, that walk of shame is one of the bravest things I've seen an actor do. That went on forever.

I forgot about the Hound, but they could still pull him back out if they wanted to I guess. I can see the show not missing Stannis but Jon Snow seemed to be the central character regarding the war with the dead that is coming. I don't understand what they are going to do without him.

Stuff like this needs a new type of tag. The "HUGE FUCKING SPOILER" tag.

I certainly wish I hadn't looked at it. Don't know why I did, except that I didn't expect anything like what was revealed in it.

I'll just say this, if
Spoiler:
Jon Snow is irrevocably dead, there's going to be a shocking number of people that will bail on this show. They're simply taking this no character is safe shit too far IMO.

Unfuckingbelievable with these Twitter reactions. "That's it. I'm done with Game of Thrones. It was a good ride."

Shut the fuck up. You'll be back for the Season Premiere next April and you fucking know it. I remember the bitches that tweeted "I'm done" after Lady was killed back in Season 1.

Seriously, just shut the fuck up, the lot of you.

It is easy to hate Cercei for all she has done, but I'm looking forward to FrankenMountain (TM) destroying the Faith Militant people.

I think it's a perfectly valid reaction and I don't blame them if they do bail out. It's getting so who hell is left on this show to pull for. There are a few but if you're talking endgame, the pickings are getting mighty damn slim.

After news of Myrcella reaches her, Cersei should just send the new KG down to Dorne and unleash him. Would be something to see him and Hotah fight.

GoT has never really played it like that, though. A lot of this felt it something from Dallas or something... Is [insert name] dead or not? Tune in next season. This felt like all build-up and little pay off, except Jon looked pretty dead.

You know who I wouldn't want to be? Tommen. She'll probably blame him for hiding and not doing anything.

I have no idea. I stopped reading as soon as I saw the initial part.

I know it's on me. My point is just that there are 'spoilers' and there are "game changing spoilers."

If that one is based on the books, it's a game changer.

Perhaps they wanted to wait and see the specific details in the next book he is working on? Who knows how much they really know about the future plot.

Everybody quits Game of Thrones every other week, this is no different. Starting with the death of the direwolf in the second episode of Season 1. Followed by another death in episode 8. Followed by almost every other episode since then. I mean, half the shows viewing population apparently swore the show off after a rape a few weeks ago.

Given the death rate on the show, who gets killed off next season since their are only a few major players left? Tyrion or Daenerys?

I figured that was how the final scene of the episode was going to go. Called it last week when talking about the show with co-workers. It didn't phase me in the book and didn't phase me now. I never got the omg like for that character. Those chapters in the book I wanted to just skim through as they felt tedious and a chore to read at times. I get that there is importance there. But snooze fest for me when reading and watching some of the scenes from past episodes.
