Agreed, I don't usually talk during viewings, but as soon as she said that, I said "Oh, come ON! Caitlin would know what a singularity is!".

I said the same thing out loud. Basically, come on, she would know what that is. Do not most people by now?

Re: The Flash (S1E23) -- Season Finale -- "Fast Enough" -- 5/19/15

The singularity thing was stupid. No way she doesn't know. I know and I am not nearly as intelligent as Dr. Snow is supposed to be. Have Joe ask it if they need to exposition.

Anyway I loved this finale (and whole season) and was kinda surprised that on another board I frequent for TV show discussion, the majority didn't seem to like it, calling it boring and nonsensical at certain points. No matter how many times I see it, I am constantly amazed at how differently people perceive tv shows and movies. This board has overwhelmingly positive reactions, the other had the opposite.

Anyway, can't wait for the fall!

That was fun. Will be interesting seeing how the whole time/future impact sorts out.

I'm pretty sure most people would think it's a dating website.

Really loved this season and can't wait for the next!

I like this show very much. I just hope after an amazing first season they don't pull a Heroes and have every character die and come back/reboot. Eddie was fine as a character but I hope he stays dead i.e. his body was one of the first things sucked into the black hole.

That question by Caitlin was beyond rolling my eyes. Come on. Have Iris ask that question or someone else.

So Barry is fast enough to outrun a Black Hole?

Care to speculate who Cisco is going to be? Vibe?

Yes. Yes he is.

Vibe is the alter ego of Francisco "Cisco" Ramon, a comic book superhero published by DC Comics. He first appeared in Justice League of America Annual #2 (October 1984), and was created by Gerry Conway and Chuck Patton.

And furthermore...

Justice League of America establishes that Vibe's sonic waves have the power to disrupt the Speed Force, making him one of the few characters in the DC Universe who poses a serious threat to the Flash. For this reason, he is recruited into the JLA by Steve Trevor, which exists to guard against the threat of the main Justice League going rogue. In Justice League of America's Vibe #3, Amanda Waller says "Cisco Ramon might be one of the most powerful super-humans on the planet. He wields vibrational powers that could in theory shake the Earth apart. And he's the only person we know of who can find and track interdimensional breaches." He is also undetectable by security cameras.

Re: The Flash (S1E23) -- Season Finale -- "Fast Enough" -- 5/19/15

Whoa, what a fucking finale!

The scene between Barry and his dad was amazing and then to follow it up with the tearjerker with his mom? What an emotional ride... in a comic book show no less! Loved that Barry didn't alter the timeline, instead choosing to use that minute to say goodbye. Brilliant bit of writing. I'm partial to Joe and their relationship so I'd hate to see that altered. Loved the twist with Eddie. I did not see that coming but as soon as they showed him it hit me before they went into exposition mode. Loved it. Like a few others, I never had any attachment to his character so I wouldn't be upset if he didn't return.

The easter eggs were great, as was the post episode teaser. Man they have a lot to live up to next season.

So I already forgot, how does Ronnie and the Dr. exist separately? They can do that for brief periods of time, or indefinitely until they want to 'superhero-out?'

I'm hoping at a minimum, we get GL as a guest star here or in Legends (and if that happens, I guess a team up with Arrow is a no-brainer). We've already had a reference to a "test pilot who went missing from Ferris Aircraft" so the groundwork has been laid.

Eh, I haven't honestly been keeping up with the New 52 stuff. All I knew about Vibe is that he was some lame hero wannabe back in the 80's. I guess they made him a serious hero recently. Weird.

Great finale - must admit I didn't see it coming when Eddie shot himself, although looking back it was kind of obvious.
Got a lot to live up to for the second season, hopefully Berlanti hasn't spread himself too thin.

Re: The Flash (S1E23) -- Season Finale -- "Fast Enough" -- 5/19/15

Here were the Flash's critical demo ratings for each episode. Don't freak out about the lower numbers seen in the latter episodes. For whatever reason, almost all CW shows lose some 15% of their viewers in the Spring. It's believed a lot of their target college audience stops watching television during those months. This is a show that will likely play very well on home video and streaming, growing its audience based on positive word of mouth. These numbers dwarfed everything else on the network.

Episode 1: 1.9
Episode 2: 1.7 (-10.52%)
Episode 3: 1.5 (-11.76%)
Episode 4: 1.4 (-6.66%)
Episode 5: 1.4 (no change)
Episode 6: 1.4 (no change)
Episode 7: 1.6 (+14.28%)
Episode 8: 1.6 (no change)
Episode 9: 1.5 (-6.25%)
Episode 10: 1.4 (-6.66%)
Episode 11: 1.3 (-7.14%)
Episode 12: 1.3 (no change)
Episode 13: 1.5 (+15.38%)
Episode 14: 1.5 (no change)
Episode 15: 1.3 (-13.33%)
Episode 16: 1.2 (-7.69%)
Episode 17: 1.3 (+8.33%)
Episode 18: 1.4 (+7.69%)
Episode 19: 1.3 (-7.14%)
Episode 20: 1.5 (+15.38%)
Episode 21: 1.4 (-6.66%)
Episode 22: 1.5 (+7.14%)
Episode 23: 1.5 (no change)

Season Average: 1.45

Here is your frame of reference for the average rating this television season across all slots:

2014-15: NBC 2.4, CBS 2.3, ABC 2.2, FOX 1.9, CW 0.8

Yeah...I'm ready for a "hard travelling heroes" arc just so they stop cribbing Batman. Totally relevant story for today. As for Flash; awesome. They really need to change his costume after showing us the classic one.

I am hoping when Barry closes the Black/Worm hole he is tossed into alternate universe where he meets
Jay Garrick played by John Wesley Shipp.

The last 15 minutes was AWESOMESAUCE!!!

So if thawne was from THAT far in the future (not yet born for 100+ years), how did he and Allen become nemeses in the future? Just from time travel?

Great finale. Was hitting on all cylinders, and had a good conclusion. Was expecting more of a cliffhanger, but it's not a bad thing that there wasn't a big one.

I was wondering the same.

I know they can't give us everything but the lack of an explanation on why Eobard hates Barry(I just hate you, always have) almost came across as Michael Scott hating Toby levels of silly. Cavanaugh pulled it off though.

Depending on which version you read in the comics it's either Flash meets RF by trying to stop a device that turns deadly in the future or RF travels back in time to meet his hero but somehow becomes insane through the time travel process and becomes his enemy. With all the reboots at DC there could be other versions of the story but those above is what I remember reading.Their probably going to use a mix of all that to create his origin for the series. They already changed the detail from what time he came from which was the 25th century.

Actually, those numbers look pretty good to me. Considering that the entire end of the season was about the same numbers as the beginning of the season speaks to a very loyal audience.

For a 5th tier network to nearly match FOX on some nights, they've got to be thrilled. Between Flash, Arrow, Legends and Supergirl, we'll be geeking out this fall with superhero shows that may actually all be good.

My wild-ass guess is that this very event--the wormhole/black hole created by Barry in this episode--is what causes future Eobard Thawne (our future, his past) to lose everything and to hate The Flash, thus setting him on his course of revenge that eventually led to him traveling to the past. That would make for a good, paradoxical, timey-wimey plot.
