Welcome to the DVDTalk Survivor Game no. 14 for the Fall 2015 season!

As Jeff Probst once said, "Survivor is always changing". In order to keep up with these changes, the DVDTalk Survivor Game must change with it!

Survivor fans are voting for their favorites amongst 32 returning players for a "second chance" at the the game. As a result, we will start our game now with all 32 players available to draft!

These 32 contestants will be at the current season's reunion show on May 20 with their bags packed. The top 20 favorites (10 women and 10 men) as voted by the fans will be announced during the show and they will depart immediately to begin the game for the fall season. The remaining 12 will be eliminated.





The jist of the game: For an entry fee of just $3, everyone chooses one Survivor to latch on to before the reunion show. That is your guy. You root for that Survivor. If that Survivor ends up going all the way, then YOU will win a $56 Amazon.com gift certificate. 100% of the entry fees will go to the prize fund.

Second and Third place will receive $20 Amazon GCs!

General rules:

This will be the contest thread for the entire season.

We will be using the first to post method on draft night (Tuesday May 19, 9 PM EDT, 6 PM PDT). You may post 1 and only 1 name during the draft. This is strictly first-come-first-serve. Anybody posting a list will only have rights to the first name in the post. If that name has already been taken, you will need to post again.

All payments must be made via PayPal by 3 AM EDT Monday May 18. If you haven't paid by then, your spot may be released to another player.

Bopper Rule: If for whatever reason, an announced Survivor contestant that you drafted is replaced by a substitute during the show, you will get the substitute in place of your original pick. However, if the replacement player is amongst the 12 eliminated during the reunion show, the owner of that pick advances and you will be eliminated. As long as the replacement player isn't owned by somebody else, you will get the new player.

Please do not edit or delete posts during the draft, if your pick has already been taken or you were too early, you will need to post again. Screen captures will be taken during the draft and anyone caught deleting or editing a post will be given the last pick (AKA the Quack play) as a penalty. This rule will be strictly enforced.

Please, please, please! Include your DVDTalk screen name in a comment with your PayPal payment! This is necessary so that I can match people up with their payments. Also, please use the "Send money to a friend" option as this will avoid seller fees.

If the contest doesn't sell out and an unclaimed Survivor wins, the prize will go to whoever has the highest finisher.

The draft will be held Tuesday, May 19 at 9 PM Eastern (6 PM Pacific). The DVDTalk timestamp of your post determines validity. If you are too early, you will need to post again.

I polled a group of recent Survivor game players by PM to see how much interest there would be in this twist on our game. I was astonished by the 90+% approval rate, so I have decided to save some time by giving reservations to everyone who voted in favor of this game and payment info has been sent.

I do realize that it is not likely that all 32 spots will sell for this game, so I will be allowing 2nd entries at a time to be determined. However, unlike The Amazing Race game where we have two distinct drafts, anyone with a 2nd entry will have to wait a half hour until 9:30 EDT (6:30 PDT). This is necessary to reduce confusion and allow everyone an equal opportunity to pick their favorite Survivor.

Since there will be 12 eliminations right off the bat on May 20 and this is a "Second Chance" season, anyone eliminated from our game on May 20 will receive a pre-reserved status for our traditional game in September. This will be our own second chance game, however it will only be held if there is enough interest to support it.

I've given this new edition of our game a lot of thought and thanks to feedback from JuryDuty and others I think I've covered everything (including a new clause in the Bopper rule).
