Sawyer Sweeten - twin son on Everybody Loves Raymond - dead at 19
UPDATED with family statement, 7:25PM: Sawyer Sweeten, who played one of the young twins on long-running TV sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, died Thursday while visiting family in Texas. He was 19.
His family confirmed reports that Sweeten committed suicide. “This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred. We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday,” his sister Madylin Sweeden said. “At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love.”
Sweeten played Geoffrey Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond from 1996 to 2005. His two siblings also were featured in the show. His twin brother Sullivan played Michael Barone and their sister Madylin played Ally Barone. The CBS comedy starred Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Brad Garrett, Doris Roberts, Peter Boyle and Monica Horan.

Don't know if it' true or not, but one articles about his death talks about suicides among transgender teens. So maybe that has something to do with the suicide. Sad either way. 19 is too young.

I saw Radar Online, who originally broke the story, said that he used a shot gun to his head. Can't imagine the horror his brother/family felt after seeing the aftermath.

19? That is way too young an age to die. The kid must've been incredibly depressed.

No, whoever wrote the quoted article typed it wrong. She spells her name the same as her brothers.

Jesus Christ, there actually is an episode that talks about suspecting Geoffrey maybe gay. Michael was able to cut paper, folder his bed, but Geoffrey struggles with everything. Jokes were made about Geoffrey being "different". Too much of coincident, it's freaky.
