Did anyone see the first episode ?
I like some of the cast but not sure how exciting this would be

For those who have never heard of this show, it's being aired on the Pivot channel here in the States.
Here's the trailer:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/j4EkiDfEQSg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Directv has the channel but it's in SD, but it may be in HD via On Demand.
Verizon, Time Warner, Charter and U Verse also carry it. It's also being aired on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
Most of you probably already have too much to watch already, so probably unlikely this will have much interest here. Especially on a channel that most of you have never watched. It has a good cast and interesting premise. I may try this at some point, but unlikely right now.

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showat...tude/listings/
Fortitude is a place like nowhere else. Surrounded by the savage beauty of the frozen landscape, the small town in the Arctic Circle is one of the safest towns on earth. There has never been a violent crime here. Until now.
In this close-knit community, a murder touches everyone, and the unsettling horror of the crime threatens the future of the town itself.
In Fortitude, it’s not just the cold that kills.

So, I did advance search, and couldn't find anything on this show. I do search this forum to find my post, and I see the original thread.

I tried watching the first hour but it was pretty slow and didn't hold my attention. I might have watched it in summer, but I have too many other shows to watch right now and I need to trim the DVR fat.

Watched episode 3 tonight and am curious to see where this goes. Stanley Tucci is pretty good in this. Must have been difficult to film in the extreme weather conditions it takes place in.

Just finished the season. Interesting show, and a really good cast. I wonder where they will go with a second season. I'm betting

Loved it! Great atmosphere, excellent cast, and a story that had many surprises. It had a little bit of a "The Thing" vibe going on.
Some really repulsive scenes, too. Really repulsive...
I think you're right about S2. I'll start watching that tonight.

Not really keen on the first two episodes of the second series.
It has a different feel, for some reason.

Just binged the entire series. This now beats Outcast as my favorite horror-show. It was brilliant... can't stress that enough.

The show is now on Amazon Prime and it's 2 seasons in now.
The Pivot network also went out of business.
Since this is not a very active thread, probably needs a re-title.

I'm a big fan of Misfits and Nathan is in season two. I kept waiting for him to say "Save me Barry!"
And nobody is safe in the show... Very Game of Thrones level of deaths.

I'm with you. I watched the first episode over the weekend and wasn't all that impressed. Then again the first season took drastic turns pretty quickly and startled the heck out of me multiple times. Will watch a few more before passing judgement.

Re: Fortitude (Amazon Prime) -- Series Thread
Really, really loved it.
Even though I enjoyed the first season immensely I thought s02 was the better of the two. Stanley Tucci in s01 was stellar, and that was in a show that already had Michael Gambon owning every scene he was in.
The cast additions in s02 were terrific (Quaid, Nagra) and I saw things I did not want to see (s02 e09, I am looking at YOU).
Now, where's my Petra/Ingrid show?

Re: Fortitude (Amazon Prime) -- Series Thread
I'm glad they didn't just cancel the show and thankfully gave it a few episodes to tie it up, but I really wanted a full season 3 (and 4, and 5). I think Amazon will have the last few episodes by the end of the year, but I've not heard a peep recently.
