Re: Arrow (S3E11) -- "Midnight City" -- 1/28/15

when laurel jumped on top of the van and then promptly fell, i laughed. at least she makes roy look competent and that is good for his self esteem.

names for the team minus ollie?
team spazz, the league of unimpressive gentlemen, the just us league of oops i fell help me up.

physical antics aside, i was tearing up like it was the finale of parenthood. everyone was extra weepy and it was rubbing off on me.

i wonder if someone gets the idea to just blow bullet tooth tony up with a bazooka or stick a grenade in his keister.

nice to see there is no occasion that doesn't call for a bippy top from thea. even i am starting to concede that this is turning into an action packed episode of saved by the bell.

i hope malcolm ups her training so they can be more of a threat to the league. i give her points for moxie and attitude but she may overestimate her skills a little.

sad to see laurel's red pants suit make an appearance.

Didn't know where to stick this one - The Atom arrives on Arrow Feb. 25th.

Can the man who once played Superman fill the shoes of the Atom? From the looks of it, yes.

The first look at Brandon Routh's Atom outfit for The CW's Arrow is here -- and it's heavy. This costume has been teased both in the show and in interviews, but will be seen in action for the first time on February 25's Arrow episode, titled "Nanda Parbat."

Although the jury's still out on how fans will take to Routh's new superhero identity, response is said to be positive inside the hit show. So much that Arrow head honcho Greg Berlanti has been quoted that saying that "preliminary discussions" about a spin-off show for the Atom have happened.

it seriously feels like they should have just gone with Ted Kord and Blue Beetle instead of the Atom.

DC needed to get him out there before Ant-Man premieres. So the rumor goes.

So the Atom is planning to play pro football? It's a very modern costume design, one that doesn't even use Atom's classic color scheme. It feels wrong from the promo shot, hopefully it looks better on camera. I guess he is ready to step into a Marvel movie...

I like everything but the visor. I think a helmet more like Captain America would have worked better.

Yes it does.

They just de-saturated the blue in that shot.

It looks like a lot of black and chrome to me, it's a pretty busy design. Ask most comic fans what they think of when they picture the Atom, I think this would be closer:

I understand they have had to add more pouches and pads in this bold, new era of Jim Lee designs. I get the strong impression the designers of this Arrow version drew heavily on Marvel's planned Ant-Man design.

Giving the CW some credit, they have shown a welcome willingness to modify costume designs as the show airs. The Flash's costume has already had a couple of subtle tweaks since the first episode.
