Funny, I was just thinking about this show last night and couldn't remember if it was renewed or ended last season (didn't recall how last season's finale went down). Now I remember the flash-forward. Anyway, can't wait for this to return.

Re: Parks and Recreation: The Final Season Discussion Thread
We can just use this for discussion when it airs. Don't think it needs weekly threads this year.
Can't wait to see the new time jump stuff.

It's sad to see it go, but the show didn't have anywhere left to go.
It was probably smart of them to jump the timeline this season, as it should give them some fresh storylines to close the show out... otherwise they'd be re-hashing the same old stuff.

Former character returning to the show for a few episodes. Spoiled just in case you don't want to be spoiled about it.

But will they ever show the fucking mayor of the town? That's the one thing that's always been weird. I read they wanted Bill Murray for the part at some point, but if you can't get him, at least show us something.

that doesn't surprise me. i mean, they can't really have a true sendoff without those people involved some way.

Bump for the premiere tonight. Remember, 2 episodes every night for 6 weeks, and then the 1 hour finale on the 7th week.

I will delay the shows and watch them on Thurs and continue the tradition.
I assume NBC wants to bring back the Voice ASAP with a quick burnoff.
I thought last weeks show was a new episode and I watched it all the way until the end and saw the flashback. I was wondering why so much of the stuff seemed familiar and why was Ron making a chair again for Tom lol.
Should have checked the show description on Directv first.

One of my favorite shows of all time and probably tied with Justified and Adventure Time for favorite show currently airing. Going to miss it a lot when it's gone.

Re: Parks and Recreation (NBC) - The 7th & Final Season Thread - premiering 1/13/15
While I wasn't sure how the fast-forward thing would work, I had faith in the creative minds behind the show to not let me down. I'm glad to see my faith wasn't misplaced. It was a great idea for the show going into its final season and I really think they pulled it off. It almost felt like a sequel to the show I've loved for so many years, but it didn't lose any of the humor or heart. More than that though, it was a fresh take on the show and actually shook things up a little with people leaving the Parks Department for the private sector and having a divide between the team.
They've advanced everyone in realistic and interesting ways. Tom and Ron going into the private sector, but Tom still feeling as though something's missing. Andy turning Johnny Karate into a brand, but having to deal with adulthood with April. Shows promise for some continued character development into the series finale. It was nice to see Ron and Leslie on opposite sides, but still come together for the greater good. It was good to see that Ben was important enough to Pawnee to be the "Man of the Year". It's a nice sentiment given how his hometown basically wrote him off as a failure and embarrassment.
Wasn't expecting to see Jon Hamm again, but loved his cameo. And Werner Herzog? It was great to see Trevor Nelsson, Councilman Jam, Tammy 2, Joan Callamezzo, Lucy, Newports, and Ken Hotate all back for the farewell season. I expect to see lots of other familiar faces along the way and can't wait to see where other favorites have ended up.
All of the reference to Morning Star were interesting. I'm sure they'll let us know what happened with that before the end and I imagine it will be something pretty minor. Also, it looked like Ron hid something from Leslie at one point, wonder if he's planning to build her something?
Tammy stripping down and then the librarian shh'ing Leslie was great. Loved Leslie's Tammy impression and how when April screamed Andy immediately went into a karate stance and was looking for a threat.
So many funny lines, but here are some of my favorites...
Jerry: "Yes, I go by Terry now. Because there was a guy at National Parks, he was already named Larry. So they suggested I go by Terry. And I said my real name is Gary and they said who cares? So, it's a fun group." (and Andy calling him Barry on the Johnny Karate Show, haha)
Tammy 2: "Are you horny with gratitude?"
Andy: "So a fairly standard layout."
(Sorry for the extra-long post, but I'm just so glad to have this show back and see that it hasn't lost any of what makes it so great)
---
EDIT: Ben's such a great guy. Loved his moments with April and Tom. Nice moment at the end with Leslie and Ron subtly acknowledging that they miss each other.

Leslie's Tammy 2 impression was fantastic. Even better than Poehler's Cosby one.
