Re: Parks and Recreation (NBC) - The 7th & Final Season Thread - premiering 1/13/15

I actually think this show has hung on a little too long so I'm glad this is the final season. To be fair, it's never been bad, like the Office, but last year it felt like it had run it's course. Hopefully, the trip to the future will reinvigorate it enough for a truly proper sendoff.

Also, while a lot of their careers are going well, I think it's especially cool that Chris Pratt, who is on the verge of being a huge star, still came back to play a supporting character in a show that very few people watch.

Poehler's impression was so good, I'm almost wondering if they just dubbed those lines...

What exactly is everybody doing now? I know Leslie works with the National Parks program, and obviously Ron and Tom both have their private sector businesses, but I was kind of lost on who the rest of them work for. I guess Andy's just a professional children's entertainer now?

Harry still works at the parks department along with April. Have no clue what Donna's doing. I think Ben's still at Chris's old job.

I believe Donna was a realtor.

One recurring character that I hope makes an appearance this year is Natalie Ludgate.

Andy said he has his show and still works part time at the Parks Dept. I can't remember if he specified National or Pawnee.

1st episode was much better, but god damn this show is fantastic.

Jerry turned into Terry

Leslie's Tammy impression was fucking fantastic.

I sort of didn't like how Andy was all responsible in the 1st episode, but he was back to being goofball, screw-up Andy. Just keep him as the lovable idiot and don't try to change him.

As a big fan of the show, I thought the first episode was strangely unfunny and boring (Herzog aside). Second episode was better, but not by much. I don't know, something felt off, like they were trying too hard to be funny, making the show feel really forced and not as effortlessly funny as before.

I agree about the first episode, but the second was classic Parks in my opinion. I laughed out loud several times.

Looking on the tablet for who Tom should date, the first person they come across is Tom's cousin - whose last name is Ansari (Tom's real last name). Wonder if the girl is actually related to Aziz Ansari.

Took a bit for me to warm up to the time jump and the fact that they're separated and in different settings, but I'm up for this season now.

There is a Kickstarter campaign to get The Cones of Dunshire game created. The price levels are ridiculous though. $500 to actually get the game.

In any show where you jump forward a few years/introduce a new character/do anything like that you've got to set up what's changed, I'm ok that it took 1.3 eps of less than their usual funny to do it.

I thought they had the cones of dunshire game for sale at the NBC store?

The second episode was funnier but I will take any parks and recs episodes.

For that kind of money it needs to come with all the bacon and eggs they have.

I really enjoyed both episodes. First time watching the show. Sad to hear this is the last season of it.

The first part was just okay, but the second with Ron and Leslie locked in together was great. Ron covered in post-its

Re: Parks and Recreation (NBC) - The 7th & Final Season Thread - premiering 1/13/15

Liked the first episode, but LOVED the second one. As a fan of Parks and Recreation since day one I admittedly got a little teary-eyed when Ron and Leslie reconciled, specifically when he admitted to going there to asking for a job and giving her the frame. I'm just glad they did this in episode four instead of waiting until the very near end.

Not enough Craig though.

both episodes fell flat for me. a couple of funny Ron bits, but all in all, felt like a bit of a chore to watch.

really funny episodes. I thought it was great with the mini flash backs and the random celebrities. I will miss this show when it is gone.
