The magic door that can send them anywhere in the world does have echos of Doctor Who, but The Doctor can travel anywhere in time as well, while the Librarians are stuck in the present (so far). Also Doctor Who is loosely sci-fi (almost everything is aliens), while The Librarians is straight up fantasy.
It was a fun, different take on the Santa Claus myth, and the ending actually came off as moving instead of trite, which is hard to do. I liked how the ending montage included other cultures and religions. It must've been hard for the show to pull off a Christmas episode only 3 episodes in, but they managed it.

I'm confused by the finale. So is Wylie going to be a regular now (I thought he had another series)? It was an ok season. Nothing to get excited about but most of the episodes were fun.

How long until the episodes become available on TNT's website? My cable went on the fritz and I missed the finale.

I was wondering that, too. Does that mean they're not renewing it?
This show was silly, but fun. Perfectly filled the empty space left by Warehouse 13. I like all the characters and they have good chemistry together. The episode with the town built by Tesla was pretty cool.
If it doesn't return, the most disappointing thing will be not seeing Alicia Witt return as Morgan le Fay. She's always been beautiful, and goddamn she is aging nicely--hotter now than ever.

They didn't just burn off this show, they did the same thing to Major Crimes. I suspect either TNT scheduled the shows incorrectly or they wanted to really avoid being hurt in the ratings by other programming in January.

Just finished the last episode. Good stuff. The appearance of Mr. Romijn as Lancelot was fun, as was the stuff with Jenkins at the end.
It looks like this is getting good ratings for TNT, so I have high hopes it'll be renewed.

Falling Skies will be ending its run this summer so Wylie will be free for this series.

We just wrapped a binge of this show through last night's season finale, very entertaining, lots of fun. Will go back and watch the initial movies again sometime in the near future.

The last episode was pretty good, mostly because Noah Wyle's character works so well in this universe. This show only really worked when he was on it. Except for Lindy Booth's character, the other Librarians in training simply couldn't carry a show. I thought the writing for this abbreviated season was wildly uneven, some of the episodic plots were almost embarrassingly weak.
Alicia Witt's villain should have been given a much larger role over the season than the old man.

This was a fun, light weight show that I really enjoyed. In retrospect, it was both episodic and serial - a rare feature. It seems there was a fair amount of planning involved with the season arc (the librarians, the artifacts, Lancelot and his son, etc...) Even the last episode could act like a series finale. I hope it checks renewed.

I suspect it comes back with Noah Wyle and retooled for his character. It wouldn't surprise me if Rebecca Romijn and possibly Larroquette are the only ones that return.

Love Christian Kane on ANGEL and LEVERAGE but I wasn't that interested in his character on this show.
Didn't like the Aussie-Asain guy.
Lindy Booth who I adore from her 2 appearances on NERO WOLFE MYSTERIES was the only interesting addition that I liked.
Too bad Bob Newhart didn't make a cameo in the last episode.

I bought the complete season on Google Play (same extended episodes as iTunes) so the renewal means this season won't be lonely.
Now I finally watched the season finale and it was pretty damn good. By far was Baird's "Nope" rant after the first teleportation, it was genuinely funny and not hokey at all. I can't wait for the next season and see where they go from here.

I only liked the episodes for the most part when Wyle was on it. The episode with those people out of time due to Tesla's technology was my favorite.

I think the show is goofy fun. I liked the fairy tales episode.

don't they usually put out the season on blu-ray/dvd before next season start, you know maybe get more people on board to watch the show? is the first season even on netflix, or amazon?
