Re: What Is The Last TV Film You Watched?

Lake Placid Vs Anaconda (Syfy, this past weekend). It was okay, I was expecting the snake vs gator action to get my pulse pounding just a teensy weensy bit, but nope. I did laugh as the red shirts in the film became snake/gator chow.

Also, to answer my own question about the lack of original Syfy films this year...it looks like they were waiting for Shark Week to air them all (I noticed there will be a new Syfy film each day of the week during Shark Week, so that is sweet).

Gourmet Detective (Hallmark Mystery Channel). I am down for the next film in the series, and I already like Brooke Burns (she was in Undercover Bridesmaid, which I also enjoyed).

Bessie

That Queen Latifah looking in the mirror nude scene would never end but overall it was a decent movie.

I did think Taryn Manning was really good and I also thought the actor that played Castro was great. It took me a while to recognize him as the guy from Major Crimes - total transformation.

From what I had read about the case, Michelle Knight was very childlike and had mental issues even before she was abducted. So I thought it was odd that the movie often depicted her as the smart, wise one. Although because it was based on her book that is probably why she came off that way.

And although it was not a made for Lifetime movie, did anyone watch Grace of Monaco? It starred Nicole Kidman and premiered at Cannes last year. The fact that it ended up on Lifetime should show you how bad it was.

Re: What Is The Last TV Film You Watched?

- A Country Wedding (Hallmark - stars Autumn Reeser)

- Roboshark (Syfy) - Holy cow...the special effects for the shark were laughably bad (the only good effect, and I believe it was a mix of practical and cgi...was when the "Coffee Time" shop was destroyed due to an explosion caused by the shark making its way into the store).

- Mega Shark Vs Kolossus - Okay, there is a scene where Kolossus throws the Mega Shark into space to knock out a satellite, and the shark simply falls back to earth none the worse for wear (no, I am not kidding...the scene is in the film). Again, the only really well done set-piece involves practical effects work, which is when the CIA lady takes out some baddies with a shotgun in a diner (felt like the scene would not have been out of place in a decent action film).

I am working through Sharktopus Vs Whalewolf as part of all those Syfy Shark films leading into Sharknado 3. Ahh...I love the smell of really cheesy Syfy films, good times folks, good times.

- Sharktopus Vs Whalewolf - best thing about this film was the hot female cop that teams up with Casper Van Diem to defeat the creatures.

- Zombie Shark
