What was Gareth going on and on to Bob about? Was Terminus Bob's camp before he went out on his own? There seemed like there was some history there and I don't know where that would come from.

Great seeing Carver back on TV but like everybody else thought that there were an awful lot of black people in the group so adding one meant one had to be subtracted.

I agree - the skin of the zombies was slothing off and the junk floating in the water looked like bacteria ridden scum of some kind. Never mind the zombies, but just exposing your skin to this cesspool if you have any cuts, or a splash into your eyes would bring certain infection.

Just another nit-pick - but if you were in that water, you would at least change your cloths when you got out, or before you went in.. there was plenty of clothing on the top floor.. who would walk around reeking like that?

Also, twisted ending. Not sure I ever thought they'd pull off that storyline. Pretty dark for tv.
Um, not these days.

Sure there are plot holes in the show, and somethings don't make sense. But take it with a grain of salt and enjoy it for what it is.
That is what we do, I'm still pissed about the mountains in Iowa in 24.

I thought the same. But it would be too complicated of a story.

I thought the same thing. I haven't seen this week's Talking Dead yet, but I wonder how long Chris Hardwick goes before making this joke.

Yeah, that water is basically a big bowl of zombie soup.

That's what I gathered. Either that or Gareth is really good at remembering the names of his victims.

As noted in the previous episode, Bob and Gareth had had a discussion before about Bob's group going to Washington for a cure to the Zombie plauge. This happened off screen. At the abbatior, right before they were set to be killed, Bob tried again to convince him of this, which Gareth had no interest in, as his group had already set up a ststem, sick as it was, that they were content with.

On Talking Dead last week, Scott Gimple explained the Terminus folks agenda as they would welcome you in, feed you, and then fill you in on the situation. If you were down with their way of doing things, you were welcomed in to the group. If you opposed them, you became food.

Also, barring the character change, Gareth's dialog in the end scence was almost verbatim from the comics.

Yeah, I mean if it was a black baby he was protecting it would be a different matter.

I doubt Bob will survive as even if they rescue him, he will only slow down the group. In the comic
Spoiler:
we got some grim satisfaction when Dale revealed to the cannibals that he had been bitten. Since it's a different character that obviously won't happen. I am curious if we will get Rick's grim version of vengeance where he systematically chops up every member of the remaining Termites.

If I was Rick I wouldn't trust him to protect my child in the slightest. I really can't wait until his character is killed off.
Because what makes the show interesting is the conflict between characters, and their different opinions towards each new situation. That is why Dale, Shane and Herschel were very important to the show, because they were the type of characters that could call Rick on the carpet if they disagreed.

I thought that is what the 2nd part of Season 4 lacked was that conflict between the characters. Last night showed some difference between them as Tyrese compared to Rick, or Darryl asking Carol what she was doing by the car and she said, "I...don't know." Every story needs conflict, and it would be boring if they all just were in lockstep with Rick.

Spoiler:
why would it "obviously not happen", simply because it's a different character? They set it up that way (tainted meat), with Bob seemingly having been bit when being pulled under water. It is pretty much exactly like what happened to Dale, just with a different character.

Yeah, shame on you guys for not knowing about offscreen conversations!

I thought everyone going in to that water was incredibly stupid, but did make for some cool looking zombies which I imagine was the only purpose of that scene. I also thought Bob got bit judging by the way he was acting. Most of the episode was a bit boring, but loved the ending and showing the Terminus guys eating his leg. Good ending and i'm curious if they do tackle the idea of eating "tainted" meat.

Re: The Walking Dead (S5E02) -- "Strangers" -- 10/19/14

So is it safe to say that there are actually two different types of infection? The first is the one that everyone already has and if one dies, even from natural causes, that person becomes a walker. The second type is if you are bit or scratched by a walker, it leads to certain death causing the first infection type to kick in.

What would happen if they gave a blood transfusion to a walker?

I don't have a lot to say this week, but the big reveal at the end about Bob's fate was crazy, although not surprising. I can't imagine a 1 legged man is going to survive on this show more than 1 or 2 more episodes tops.

Hershel made it more than a season, didn't he?

They had stable, consistent shelter when Hershel had his leg chopped off. I'd say it's highly unlikely that D'Angelo survives more than the next few episodes. Of course, I'm pretty sure he got bit too so there's that as well.

Exactly they had shelter at least. Now Rick and company are nomads.

Just thought of something. Has Maggie even shown one ounce of curiosity about what happened to her little sister?
