I found it funny enough. Not one of the better episodes, but it'll do.

Anyone else find Santiago both hot and cute?

That doesn't sound too good. Sounds like a good chunk of the demo left Fox after Simpsons and then came back for the Simpsons/Family Guy cross over. Wonder what next week will bring...

I think that's what Fox was aiming for ratings wise.

It takes time to build a comedy's ratings base. They rarely become winners overnight. Fox likely wants to grow 99's loyal viewership and eventually move it to another night as a comedy anchor. Their most reliable shows are the animated Sunday ones.

I don't know. Thought most stations would want people to continue on and not see such a drop then a bump up to another show. Would want to go throughout the night. I see it taking a nice bump next week without a huge buildup for FG.

I'm sure Fox was hoping for a better hold, but its still better then what it was doing before.

The better question is, will it do better than what was showing last season? Different day, different competition, so the better than what it used to do isn't so much of an issue here.

The Simpsons probably started the half hour with a 5.0 rating and ended the half hour with a 2.9, so you can't really assume that they all tuned out after The Simpsons, a large chunk probably tuned out during (it wasn't a good episode). NFL lead-in is HUGE.

Family Guy has always had a bump, especially one as highly advertised.

Bob's Burgers was on at 8:30 for a chunk of the season last year (before being moved to 7:30)

Final Ratings for the season premieres for 2013:

The Simpsons - 2.9 with 6.37m viewers
Bob's Burgers - 2.2 with 4.48m viewers
Family Guy - 2.6 with 5.23m viewers
American Dad - 2.1 with 4.32m viewers

Preliminary Ratings for 2014:

NFL had overrun until about 7:50 and The OT was cut short, the 7:30 Ratings for FOX were a 6.8 with 19.12m viewers.

8:00 - The Simpsons - 3.9 with 8.50m viewers
8:30 - Brooklyn Nine-Nine - 2.6 with 5.45m viewers
9:00 - Family Guy - 4.5 with 8.39m viewers

Agreed! I love this show. Santiago and Jake have great chemistry IMO and they continue to have strong writing.

Still laughing at "We Joel'd together!"

I didn't think this was hysterical or anything but I laughed out loud a few times. Great to have this show back.

I thought it was OK. I'm not a big Andy Samberg fan, but like the overall cast who are enjoyable to watch. I actually find his character more annoying than funny.

Thought this grew to be the funniest comedy on network TV in season one. I wasn't super crazy about the first episode this year, but tonight's episode was very strong.

I spent a lot of the episode wondering if that was Kyra Sedgewick or Amy Sedaris.

I liked this one much more so than the season premiere.

I didn't care for the episode that much; I liked the captain stuff, but the vasectomy stuff wasn't as great as funny as I hoped.

Another good one. Not perfect, but had a lot of great moments.

Show seems to be missing a beat or something for me this season. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Re: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) - Season 2 Thread - Sundays starting 9/28/14

I am enjoying it, but I think there is a lot of focus on reintroducing the characters instead of building on season one. It's throwing off the rhythm for me. It was especially obvious when they were describing Boyle's living situation.
