Forget about Supergirl's hair color, it's like Jimmy's right out of the comics...

I have no problem with Jimmy's casting, though I would prefer a slightly nerdier actor for the role. This guy looks he just came from the gym.

Agreed, but he's pretty much 0-2 on casting the love interest so the Jimmy Olsen casting concerns me.

Agreed. Jimmy Olsen has a ripped black man isn't what I typically think of when I think of Jimmy Olsen. But I'd give it a shot if not for how little charisma Amell has with Cassidy and Patton had with Gustin.

Why not just make this a new character? Race is a non-factor, but Olson looking like he spends all his free time in the gym is just wrong.

I just hope casting like this isn't purely for diversity.

This is my main concern. Jimmy should not look like some ripped model type.

While we're at it let's make Cyborg white or asian. That doesn't make any sense at all, either but I'm sure you'll hear a huge uproar if they did that.

Re: Greg Berlanti (Producer of Arrow & Flash) developing Supergirl TV series

Honestly, Jimmy's race doesn't matter. It's his naïve, over-eager, "golly, Miss Lane" persona that matters. This male model version of Jimmy doesn't look like he'd be anything like that at all. He's obviously there to serve as eye candy for the ladies (and there's nothing wrong with that) but he shouldn't be Jimmy Olsen.

Re: Greg Berlanti (Producer of Arrow & Flash) developing Supergirl TV series

I mostly trust Berlanti, he's shown he knows what he is doing with superheroes. Even his failed ABC show riffing on the Fantastic Four was pretty good as lighthearted entertainment. Saying that, a network could take Supergirl in almost any direction. Aside from her iconic look, the character is a virtual blank slate. Even the comics have had little clue in handling her in recent decades, they seemingly reboot her every few years.

I would almost bet she starts the series not knowing she's Kryptonian or related to Superman.

Outside of Smallville I know nothing of Cyborg. Honest question, why does his race matter?

Apparently in Supergirl's world Jimmy Olsen is a playa! Get you some Jimmy!

DC really seems to be pushing Cyborg lately for whatever reason.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/356...rgirl-revealed
CBS is reportedly seeing a very tall actor to play Lumberjack, the character who is set to serve as the main villain in its upcoming "Supergirl" TV series.

The network is reportedly after a "big, burly monster of a man, who has battled Kara's cousin in the past," and are reportedly seeking someone along the lines of Rory McCann who plays Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane in HBO's "Game of Thrones".

Lumberjack appears in the series to test Supergirl's powers, on behalf of an unknown superior villain. He's a character that has yet to feature in any of the current TV shows based on DC Comics properties.

Maybe they can get a Harrison Ford cameo down the road.

Re: Greg Berlanti (Producer of Arrow & Flash) developing Supergirl TV series

Flockhart seems a little old to be Cat Grant but she is right in the heart of CBS's demo. My reading of the tea leaves from the castings so far is that this show will be all about Girl Power!, and less about superpowers. Just an educated guess.
