Legends (S1E03) - S: Bean, Larter - "Lords of War" -- 8/27/14

"Lords of War" - Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT)

Martin assumes the legend of Dante Auerbach, an international arms dealer known as the "Lord of War," in order to track the sale of VX gas and rescue kidnapped chemist Richard Hubbard. He makes contact with beautiful arms dealer Ana Paulanos, the right hand of a mysterious Chechen mobster known as "The Colonel." Martin develops a romantic entanglement with Ana as he gains The Colonel's trust - but it's unclear whether he trusts him enough to trade him all the VX gas.

Directed by Brad Turner

Written by Josh Pate

Tina continues to get gut-wrenchingly awful hairstyles. What are the costumers thinking?

Just caught up and I really like the show. Refresh my memory - is Tina the chick from Napoleon Dynamite?

Yes, the computer geek played by Tina Marjorino.

Ah, I knew she looked familiar. She's cute. I don't really mind her slightly androgynous look.

More famously, she was a regular on Veronica Mars. I don't see it as androgynous, I find it difficult to imagine a man with that hairstyle, even in San Francisco. It's just hideous.

Really? It's very Euro. It's a pseudo undercut. Something Tilda Swinton would sport.

Re: Legends (S1E03) - S: Bean, Larter - "Lords of War" -- 8/27/14

I enjoyed episode 3 as it had a little more meat to it with Martin assuming the arms dealer legend and then meeting "The Colonel" Looks like the plot with the VX gas continues next week since it didn't get resolved in this episode.

I liked seeing Necar Zadegan from 24 in this. Not surprised since this is a Howard Gordon production. I wonder if more 24 alumnus will appear in future weeks. Željko Ivanek, another 24 alumnus, was in the Pilot episode.

In the brief scene with this wife & son, I guess they are trying to show that Martin is struggling with all these "Legends" he's maintaining and it's affecting his actual real memories. That could be an interesting plot device. We'll see how that holds up.

This was better than episode 2. Nice tension throughout the whole thing. I'm a little surprised that the VX gas plot will continue as I thought it would resolve itself in this episode.

Only nitpick--that plotline with Agent Rice is kinda annoying and a waste of time. Maybe he discovers who the Billy Brown character's background and history, but as of right now his plotline is predictable and boring.
