I caught the one with Carpenter, as it debuted when From Dusk Till Dawn was running. Good stuff. I liked that he has a segment where other directors write in questions to ask, taking the whole concept of the show to the next level. Not only is it a director interviewing a director, but other directors get to join in as well.

I've got the two other episodes set to record this weekend. Not really that interested in Del Toro, but who knows. The Tarantino episode should be interesting, or should I say episodes? Tarantino gets a 2-parter. The second one airs on the 27th.

yeah, I have the dvr set to record the Del Toro one I missed and will have to catch the Carpenter one if they re-air it
can't wait for the second part of the QT interview ... part 1 was better than any bonus material on any of his home video releases

Re: The Director's Chair - El Rey Network

Is there any way to watch these if I don't have El Rey?

I'd have to assume they'll get released on video at some point.

Re: The Director's Chair - El Rey Network

I say it every few years, but I wish El Rey (which seems like the perfect channel for it) would do something like that japanese "Duel" challenge that wound up giving up Aragami and 2LDK.

Two directors, two low budget short films, allowed one set, one theme (theirs was duels), same set of requirements for both. I just think it'd be fun.

I love this show. He really kisses Tarantino's ass through most of it. I wish they would do a Vol.3 at some point.

I wish Rodriguez would do more episodes since you don't see these type of shows on TV a lot.

Maybe he is busy with film projects.

I just realized that El Rey has ceased operations as of 2021.

Re: The Director's Chair - El Rey Network

Directv dropped it in Jan 2020 though it might come back on a streaming platform.

At least I got a chance to see all of those director's chairs episodes.
