The X-Files (FOX) -- Season 10 coming January 24, 2016

http://www.thewrap.com/x-files-retur...d-dana-walden/

I could see this working as a limited series 8-10 episodes or something along those lines

Interesting. I could see it working if they do a shortened season every couple years or so like 24. Give people a little at a time and go away for a while so it doesn't get old fast. I'd probably check it out if it happens.

Hopefully the success of '24' helped FOX realize that their old popular series CAN be revived if it's done right. I'd love to see a 12-episode X-FILES summer series.

My favorite show. I would love to see new episodes that redeem it after the awful 9th season.

I'll out myself as having enjoyed the second movie, so yeah, I'd watch more episodes. Would bang Scully too.

There's a Season 10 comic, I think. Probably not much consolation . This show was a genuine phenomenon when I was a kid, I have to catch up sometime.

This was Lost before Lost. I used to rewatch the episodes, buy episode-guide paperbacks and the VHS cassettes... if there had been podcasts, I would have listened to those.

Loved most of the show, and I enjoyed both movies. This would be fantastic if true.

I like the idea that a TV show doesn't necessairly have to go off the air, it can just take a rest for awhile. Saw that with "Dallas," a little bit with "24', and maybe with "The X-Files." I'd love to see a 13 episode run of "Millennium" too. I think a spin-off of that focusing on Frank Black's daughter would be great.

I have long thought that it might be interesting to do a second X-Files series that had Jordan Black leading the X-Files division, pairing her up with a new agent. There are still plenty of loose ends left over from the series (but can we forget about those fucking super soldiers?). It would be interesting to have Mulder in the series in the same capacity that Deep Throat and X were used in the old series. Skinner could be leading the Millennium group. One of the big mysteries could be why the alien invasion of 2012 didn't happen... Or did it? Lots of possibilities.

I'd love for 24 to continue every summer, but Fox could revive a different show every summer for a mini-season. Keep it to a single show to keep people interested. I'd love to see a mini X-files run.

Hell, I'd love to see a bunch of shows on other networks give it a shot. Since Arrested Development kicked things off, the next holy grail would probably be Firefly. I think Christopher Titus mentioned reviving his show in some fashion. Get Veronica Mars a half season run. The movie proved the writing and cast still has it. Let's check in on Andy Sipowicz for a handful of episodes. I want to say er but the cast from the last couple seasons isn't worth revisiting.

Is a Friends reunion in the works? How about 6 episodes instead of a special? I kinda feel that's what Entourage should have done. I'm not sure how satisfying a 90 minute movie will be.

The X-Files were great until Duchovny got bored and left the show. It would be great to see Scully back in action.

I did too. It was no great masterpiece but it felt like we were given a feature length episode of the original series and it was nice being back in that world again for a brief time. I'd definitely be down for a 13 episode series!

That movie would have been more well received if it haden't been put out as a big summer movie and instead marketed as the smaller film it was. I thought the same about The American as well, which was pushed out as a Bourne movie, but was fine for what it was...

I'd watch this but I wonder how they would approach it. I'm assuming they would follow the alien invasion storyline for all the episodes even though X-files was always at it's best with the stand alone episodes.

Didn't the Alien invasion take place on Dec 23, 2012 in the show's time line? Not sure how they would work around that.

As someone posted earlier this show really was Lost before Lost. The X-Files did the shitty series finale long before Lost was even thought of. And Chris Carter had no idea what he was doing either just like Lindelof.

I would still watch it if they brought it back.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a long love affair with the xfiles. Recently watched the first 3 seasons on amazon, show still holds up amazingly well. The only TV convention I've ever gone too.

Saw some people mention just using the storylines from the season 10 comics.

They need to do an anime version of X-Files. Why not.

12 episodes...six episodes that are 'mythology' (first 2, last 2, and a couple in the middle) and six episodes that are stand-alone.

That's one reason I think an X-Files 2.0 or X-Files: The Next Generation would work.

Since the alien invasion didn't happen, the big mystery of the new series would be WHY it didn't happen. And Mulder (and possibly Scully, too) would be participants in a new conspiracy that the new agents would uncover. My idea would be that Mulder, Scully, and the new conspiracy had to do something really terrible to prevent the 2012 colonization, and we're not really sure if Mulder (in his "Deep Throat" capacity) would be trying to assist the new agents in uncovering the truth, or if he's trying to lead them away from it. I also sort of like the idea that the big disaster that the Millennium Group was anticipating was the alien invasion and colonization (especially what we were shown in the second season of Millennium).

This would be cool, but it's not going to happen anytime soon.

Duchovny has a new show on NBC for midseason 2015. Anderson is working on Hannibal ( and may become a regular ) and The Fall in the UK. And then Carter has his Amazon show.

It's going to be at least 2-3 years, but still no guarantees this even happens.
