Re: Big Brother 16 -- now in HD! Premieres 6/25/2014

Liked the re-entry competition last night--another good one that really couldn't be influenced. All four were each ahead at one point, I think. Pretty sure Nichole will side with Donny...but they may be on their own.

I don't know how Cristine can't think she's the first on the chopping block in her alliance.

Christine is hideous. That being said this is a terrible season. There is just nothing going on in the house. The comps are all boring and meaningless. We end up FF through alot of the show.

This season did seem to prove the whole "the women will never form a dominant alliance" thing.

Re: Big Brother 16 -- now in HD! Premieres 6/25/2014

Even if they had figured out how to all get together and do it, the Battle of the Block twist would have made an all female alliance much more difficult. There just weren't a lot of weak male players this years.

For instance, say Frankie and Nicole win HOH. Frankie nominates Paola and Jocasta. Nicole nominates Caleb and Devin. Who is winning that Battle of the Block? Even the stronger female competitors would just get saddled with someone weak like Victoria to make sure they would lose BotB.

This season was pretty much set up for an all guys alliance to do well.

Re: Big Brother 16 -- now in HD! Premieres 6/25/2014

The few episodes I saw early in the season with the multiple HOH nominees, etc. made the whole thing a confusing mess. Each week half the house was either an HOH or nominated, but possibly neither. What a monumentally stupid idea that was.

Anyway, stopped by to ask: When is the finale? I will probably still come back to watch that.

Re: Big Brother 16 -- now in HD! Premieres 6/25/2014

It will be Wednesday, September 24, after the "Survivor" season premiere. It was originally a week earlier and "Extant" was getting that slot, but since that show is essentially bombing, they pulled it.

The "Battle of the Block", as I recall, was supposedly to get rid of the floaters (that's why Victoria was evicted so early, right?) and make the Sunday night broadcast more interesting. Unfortunately, in practice this "twist" just screwed up the game and actually made it less interesting.

After watching Sunday night's episode I was surprised to find that I actually could hate Christine more. I was also surprised that the producers were showing what a creep Frankie can be. I hope this is the end of the "Team America" thing, unless there's an option to veto the mission entirely, -I don't want another dime going to Frankie.

Frankie can't believe that he's not America's favorite. His whole attitude changed when he got the word Thursday night about the Team America challenge. It's actually kinda refreshing to see him pouting. All that posing and fakeness was more annoying than Christine's laugh.

Loved how Christine seemed both surprised and perturbed tonight. I think she genuinely thought she was safe. But the moment she hit the block, she knew. They're going to love seeing her in the jury house...

Not many have been boo'd like that, that I can remember.

Seeing that this thread is only 6 pages, I'll assume this show is either running it's course or this season is not a favorite.

Yeah, what the hell was that booing for? I guess it's a bunch of christians angry and she was flirting while being married?

Glad shes out, but no one deserves to be booed like that. Really rude.

Dude. Even her own family said she was going a bit far with Cody.
She's married and was all over the guy, stroking his arm, his hair. Married Women dont do that much touchy-feely, even as part of the game. She was on that guy like a winter coat in the Antarctic.

I doubt it was angry Christians. She's simply one of the most-hated contestants the show has this season. Of course it's all relative, because there's really no one in the game who's liked much.

I'd say most of the boos were because Christine was pretty mean, especially to fan favorite Nicole.

Frankie would have probably been booed even more loudly. Also, Aaryn was booed like that last season.

Yet another reason I hated Grodner. I know they can keep that audience under control for the most part. But they let them boo the hell out of Aaryn to make it look like she was getting what she deserved for being a "racist", but they pretty much gave strict instructions for that to not happen for people like Amanda who only got a smattering of boos.

Obviously they decided to "forget" about audience control again tonight.

Re: Big Brother 16 -- now in HD! Premieres 6/25/2014

I don't see any way she lets Frankie get booed like that. I actually felt a little bad for Christine last night. Sure she played a stupid game, and she was largely unpleasant in the house, and she led the Donny is a pervert charge. On second thought...I don't feel bad for her.

I'm sure Grodner loves the course her season had taken. She has all of her boys still in the house with one useless woman.

I'm betting the reset was put there because of the four boys, Frankie was easily in the most direct danger, and you have to figure they want him in the finale if only for his sister.

I guess I'm rooting for Derrick at this point almost by default. At least he's playing a good game.

New HOH
Spoiler:
Frankie. Actually this is the best case scenario for that stupid rewind twist b/c you know they'll press the button and undo Frankie's week.

Actually...

Spoiler:
They already pressed the button and activated a countdown clock to Wednesday's live show. Couldn't go a night without resisting. No matter what happens this week, it'll all be reset Wednesday night.

Who pressed it? Please say Frankie. That would be hilarious.

Frankie could have taken control of the house with that veto. All he had to do was use it on Christine, then those two could have voted out either Caleb or Cody. He would have won both Christine and Victoria's trust and those three would be the majority. Instead he just went along with the guys who just told him they were thinking about backdooring him this week.

Re: Big Brother 16 -- now in HD! Premieres 6/25/2014

I thought Christine was boo'd as much for the way she exited the house as much as her gameplay. She didn't even have the graciousness to pretened to be a good loser. Just got up & stormed out without a word of goodbye.

Buy yeah, this season is boring. I can't remember another season where they have voted as a house for this long. Usually it splits down the middle at about the halfway point. I don't know if it's Derrick or this stupid double HOH twist.

This is officially the worst season I've seen. No big moves, unanimous voting, unlikable players, cliche twists, no conflict, and Frankie.

I was thinking the same exact thing. When Derrick said he wanted either Christine or Frankie to go, I was wondering why the hell he would open up even the slimmest possibility of both being safe. Even if he was worried about perception he could have nominated both and just told everyone the plan was to backdoor Victoria (to keep both Frankie and Christine happy in the short term)

As good a game as Derrick has been playing, he must have known Frankie wanted Christine out too. Either that or it was a major gaffe and he got lucky Frankie's clueless. I was convinced it was setup for Frankie to take control of the game... in addition to having a majority going forward, they would have had a 3:1 advantage for the next head of household as only Caleb or Cody would be able to compete.

I've only been watching the show for a few years but between the Team America stuff, letting half the house bond early on before introducing the next 8 players and the battle of the block stuff, it seems like the season was designed to not have a ton of surprises with the main people and ensure the production star of the show would have as best a chance to go deep into the game. And sadly it seems to have accomplished that. Part of it may just be Derick playing a tremendous game and CBS being more interested in showing Frankie as much as possible, but I think the various twists really dampened the gameplay.

I'm really hoping tonight they allow the play to continue through the vote so either Cody or Victoria feel the sting of being voted off--and THEN reset the week. But I have a feeling because of time, Julie will just tell them, "Psych! It's all been for nothing!" and reset right away.

The reset should be that the five people on the jury get put back in the house, and the five people in the house get sent to the jury.

Expect the unexpected!
