Next TV binge watch recommendation.
House, M.D., Monk, or Friends? I've seens eps of all of them over the years but not the majority of the seasons so I'll go ep 1 to the end once I start it. I've thoroughly enjoyed what I've seen equally.
I also have Smallville, Fringe, Seinfeld, Farscape, and Full House. Full House I've seen eps and liked but the other ones I've either seen parts of 1-2 eps or no eps at all (none for Fringe but it's one of mom's favorite show so I bought it as a great deal for her and I can borrow it and Farscape it'd been lauded over the years, haven't seen an ep and there was a good deal, see a pattern? ).
Other favorite shows: X-Files, Angel, Alias/Burn Notice/Breaking Bad (binged-watched), E.R., CSI: Vegas, Buffy (seen all), Grey's Anatomy (seen all up to current one).
Binge-watching is my favorite way to watch shows. Even if I like a show I prefer to wait once it goes off the air and go through it straight.

Fringe, absolutely. I think the first half of season one isn't great but everything beyond that is amazing...and the finale even redeems the first part of season one which was awesome.

I say Friends. There are 238 episodes, 22 minutes each. How many can you go through at a sitting?
I'm watching Shameless right now. Not really binging though, just one or two a day.

Second on Fringe. Everyone else you listed is very episodic and I suspect would be a struggle to keep your attention. I tried watching McGyver years ago, and only made it through so many discs before throwing in the towel.

I couldn't really get into Fringe, the first season was especially hard to get through. I just binge watched the entire last season of House, that show is just ridiculously easy to watch and the serialization of subplots makes watching the next episode a bit more desirable.

I DO have The Shield and Rescue Me. I saw a couple of eps of The Shield ages ago and I have never seen an ep of Rescue Me.
Oh yeah how could I forget I love 24 Seen seasons 1-7 but I could never get into season 8 to finish but I LOVED 1-7. Also binged watched all of Scrubs.

I think FRINGE is uneven. You'll go through big stretches of boredom/confusion during the two or three 'course-corrections' the series takes. It's a good show, but far from a great one.
I'd go with FRIENDS...light, fluffy and a lot of fun. You can watch four or five of those in a setting and the time will just fly by.

Fringe. I watch the entire series about once every year and a half. Firefly, once a year. Sarah Conner, every couple of years. Pushing Daisies, about once a year. While hardly binging, I am slowly working my way through Supernatural. Wife and I watched the first 4 eps of season 6 of Star Wars: Clone Wars today. I recommend all these.

Another vote for Fringe, especially since you cite X-files as a favorite. Fringe is a definite spiritual successor, maybe too much so in season 1. Gotta stick through season one though as it's mostly stand alone episodes (even though there is a bigger picture you don't realize until later).
Friends would be good too. I've been catching them late at night on cable recently after not really seeing them since they aired and the show holds up great. The cast was just a homerun. It's no surprise it was so huge, the cast just nailed the timing and cadence of their characters. It's easy to burn through a few episodes at a time.
Smallville was a very fun guilty pleasure. I marathoned the first 4 seasons before catching up to live broadcast. However, it's not really a good show to marathon. The show is uneven in quality. Early on the show is very repetitive which is highlighted when marathoning it.

Fringe is great, but Friends is a must watch, like long shows, the latter seasons are not as good, but they are still fine.
And as Michael Corvin mentioned, the show holds great.
Fringe after that. But you have to do a lot of homework. And read a lot of threads. Also read the wiki.

Friends really hold up well imo. Though for certain network procedural dramas were the episodes are self contained I think it's seems like it would be a time waster to try and watch all the episdoes. It would be like listening to an entire blues singers catalog who has released dozens of albums when every song is Home Sick Blues,Away From Blues,Miss My Baby Blues etc
For the shows you listed I would skip Smallville since their is better acting in porn and abc family dramas geared toward 12 year olds. I would go all in on Farscape and watch s1 of Fringe. I would say Fringe is like Mad Men if you were like this is too slow and boring you will never buy into it but if you like it after season 1 you will probably like the subsequent seasons.

Add CSI 1-13 to the mix as of next Friday
I love Full House
Shoulda made a poll, I think it's Fringe first, Friends second.
And I think binge watching replaced marathoning when we started liking food more than exercise
I watched the Fringe trailer on IMDB and didn't like it at all, but I'll give it five eps.

It's gonna take more than 5 episodes for Fringe. IIRC, the first 6 had Joshua Jackson's character headed in a different direction than where he ultimately went. The way it plays feels like the first 6 episodes were in the can before airing, once it started airing and viewers gave feedback on how obnoxious and hated his character was they changed him. Since he was almost a different character it took a little longer for the cast to gel, but once they did, holy hell it was awesome. Also, John Noble was robbed of an Emmy for 5 years. His performance was on par with Bryan Cranston's every year.
The entire first season was basically X-Files 2.0. So you should enjoy it for that. However the arc of the show doesn't reveal itself until the closing shot of the season one finale. So stick with it, the payoff is worth it. Then once you get that 'hook' you'll be popping in season 2 as soon as the credits on the finale roll.

Yup, Fringe started out as a science fiction procedural, which pretty much everyone here either was meh about or flat out hated. It turned into a hard serialized drama starting with the last few episodes of season 1 and then into season 2 onwards.
You're going to attempt to binge watch CSI? From the beginning? I have to warn you that's alot of TV to watch. I've watched from the beginning and it's over 300+ episodes including this 14th season that's about to end. Some of the earlier seasons don't really hold up that well. They have some arcs here and there, but it's 100% procedural and you may get really worn out trying to watch so many episodes.
Are you streaming these or are you buying all the discs? I mean that's alot of money to spend on stuff you've never seen. Especially CSI. That's minimum $20-25 per season for 13 seasons on DVD.
I binge watch some things here and there, but it takes the fun out of staying on top of current popular shows with other internet posters.
Look at House of Cards. People here binge watched all 13 episodes in a matter of days and now it's a dead topic even though season 2 was only posted a little over 2 months ago. Orange is the new Black will probably also be a dead topic in a matter of days after it's posted.
