I've been waiting for this to start for a while, my DVR is set up for a series recording.

I enjoyed the first episode. Didn't realize it was 90 mins. Some nods to the movie (and the Big Lebowski) which I liked. Looking forward to the whole season.
Eta: they are replaying it. Wonder if all episodes are 90 odd mins.

I live in Wyoming which is a desolate wasteland but if it's playing 11 here (mountain standard time) it means Colorado and Utah are getting it late too.
Now I'm wondering if my cable guide is off. Does this thing really have an 1:37 runtime? Try as I might I can't fit 11-12:37 into my definition of prime time.
And before anyone says it: I wasn't looking at the movie in the listings.

Good stuff! Loved the scene when Billy-Bob went into the Hess shop just to "have a look at" him. His pause and look-around when Hess asked "who's asking?" was hilarious, as were the insults.
Glad to see they're keeping this funny, and in the spirit of the film.
What was the nod to Big Lebowski? I haven't seen it in years, and don't remember much about it.

Loved it. That was one of the best FX premiere episodes. Quirky and riveting.
Billy Bob was awesome as Lorne. And Freeman was solid as Lester.
at the last act with Lester killing his wife and Lorne offing the sheriff.
at Lester running into the wall.
You could really see the episode was heavily influenced by the Coen's style of writing and shooting.
Great stuff.

Great start, Billy Bob was fun to watch. I loved him fucking with the kid shoveling and then turning him in and watching him get in trouble.

Little bit of a slog in the first 20 minutes or so, but it really came together after that.
Loved Malvo as, basically, a prick instigator with the mother/son at the motel and Hess' sons. That was great.
I hope there are a few more twists and turns than just the two officers approaching Nygaard/Malvo from two different sides.

Agreed. I was hesitant about what they would be able to do with Fargo, but this was fucking outstanding. Going to have watch it again before episode 2.

Surprising to think this could be 3 for 3 in movie adaptions to series, all of which seemed somewhat unlikely to be good. Though a good deal of the skepticism for Hannibal and Bates Motel was probably due to them being on NBC and A&E.

Hannibal especially, and that's like the best show ever now.
