Yeah, I don't think any over the air or cable network would commit to 60 episodes.

Drew Goddard is getting ready to tackle the Man Without Fear. TheWrap reports that the Cabin in the Woods helmer is in talks to write Marvel Studios and Netflix's upcoming "Daredevil" series, one of several shows that will build to a crossover miniseries, "The Defenders."
Other planned series include "Jessica Jones," "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage," with the epic unfolding over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and the culminating mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.
Goddard has had a long connection with Marvel's The Avengers director Joss Whedon. In addition to working together on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," the pair collaborated on the screenplay to Cabin in the Woods. Goddard's other credits include writing work on World War Z, Cloverfield and Bad Robot's "Alias" and "LOST."

Casting will be interesting. Picking the right guy to sell Daredevil is rough. Michael C. Hall is a thought, but I think he might be a bit old for the part. Dustin Clare (Gannicus from Spartacus) is a thought.

Michael C Hall doesn't work in my mind. I personally blame Six Feet Under, still. Even Dexter wasn't able to get me to re-associate him.

What about Jason O'Mara. I could see him as a good fit. He's tall, athletic and a good looking dude.

I think Scott Speedman is free. Might as well look at Daniel Lissing since he wasn't that bad on Last Resort too.
What about Jason Momoa? Not sure he has the chops to pull of the courtroom parts. He'd just look the best in a costume.

i didn't realize O'Mara had a pilot coming. Too bad. I think he would've been good.

Melissa Rosenberg will run the Jessica Jones show. The show was originally pitched with her in charge to ABC, who passed on it.

For the people who gave up on Arrow after a few episodes, give it another chance. At this point it's really becoming a template on how to build up a shared comic book universe on TV.
Also great choice on Goddard for Daredevil. I wonder if a certain co-writer of his helped him land that gig.

I agree. I fear that they're going to over-saturating the Marvel-U with a bunch of lackluster television material between the tentpole films.
The problem with this route is that the characters are split up between film and television, the A-list heroes are tied to actors and can't make appearances, etc.
And now, for every "big" movie, you'll have fifteen or so episodes of a cheap-looking television series filled with c- and d-list characters that has very little impact on the films.

I don't see how it's oversaturation when there are like 4 co-existing Spider-man or Superman books at any one time.

Daredevil series coming to Netflix in 2015
Marvel has confirmed some exciting news relating to its upcoming string of Netflix shows. We learned last month that Cabin in the Woods co-writer/director Drew Goddard was in talks to spearhead Marvel’s Daredevil series, and now the studio has confirmed that Goddard will indeed be running the show. The Cloverfield scribe will write and direct the first episode and will act as showrunner and executive producer on the show’s entire 13-episode run. Daredevil is one of four one-season Netflix series that Marvel is producing, which also includes Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. All of the one-season shows will lead up to a The Defenders miniseries.
Daredevil will be first out of the gate, with Marvel confirming that it will premiere on Netflix in 2015. With a guy as passionate and talented as Goddard at the helm, Daredevil looks to be in very good hands.

Hope to see the Frank Miller version of the Punisher as a regular.
