Blind buy for me... when it was on sale for $14.96. Amazing show. That is one blind buy I won't regret.

Crazy how there is no talk about this show here. I find this show absolutely enthralling. That final scene with Thackery performing his own surgery was one of the gnarliest scenes I've ever seen in anything before. The shear thought of someone doing that themselves is absolutely nuts.

Just binged the second season and wow what a way to go out. The Blu-ray set is demo-worthy in terms of video/audio specs, too.

So ... is Season Three coming up soon? I can't seem to find much in the way of answers. I know Soderbergh has left the show...

Soderbergh hasn't left the show. They always planned Thackery's story to be two seasons. But they are building a new 2 season story arc which hasn't yet been proposed or greenlit.

Damn, I was cautiously optimistic but that was fading. Would have welcomed a 3rd season to complete the story.

‘The Knick’ Canceled After 2 Seasons As Cinemax Focuses On Action Dramas

Cinemax has made it official — Steven Soderbergh’s The Knick will not produce more seasons beyond the first two. Clive Owen, who starred in the first two seasons, had said that he was done though the network had left the door slightly open for another installment with a new lead actor. Cinemax will now focus completely on its re-callibtated identity as home of high-octane action dramas, most of them international co-productions. Here is the statement by Cinemax’s programming chief Kary Antholis:
“After a critically acclaimed two-season run of THE KNICK on Cinemax, we will not be going forward with additional episodes of the series,” said Kary Antholis, president, HBO Miniseries and Cinemax Programming. “Despite our pride in and affection for the series, as well as our respect for and gratitude towards Steven Soderbergh and his team, we have decided to return Cinemax to its original primetime series fare of high-octane action dramas, many of which will be internationally co-produced.”

I still need to watch the Second Season. I was waiting for the Blu to go down to $10.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN! In my best Florida Evans voice. That show was mesmerizing. Would have loved to have seen more seasons. I'm disappointed, I think they really could have gone some great places. Oh well.

I wonder what this means for Quarry and Outcast - neither of which are high-octane action dramas either.

Quarry I believe is dead. I tweeted Greg Yaitanes about Quarry a month or so ago and he responded with one of those emoji's that don't really say anything.

Yea, I have Cinemax... I had them recorded too. Just never watched it. Too many damn shows. I still want the Blu though.

I enjoyed Season One of "The Knick" even though I generally hate series with self-destructive heroes (the brilliant man who's a drunk or an addict). I lost Season Two with a DVR mishap, abut finally recouped it a month or two back. I didn't hurry to watch it because I was waiting for Season Three, which I assumed was going to show up about the same time as the most recent season of "The Affair". I guess I'll have to fish or cut bait now.
I still haven't watched my "Quarry" episodes. I thought "Outcast" improved in the second half, and I'll be there for the next season. By the way, unlike "The Walking Dead", Kirkman's "Outcast" comic follows the series scene for scene, -at least enough that reading the book felt redundant.

Too bad there's not going to be a season 3 but the longer it went without any news the more I figured it was canceled.
Yeah Quarry is likely canceled also. I don't see why Cinemax needs to be only high-octane action dramas (as much as I like them), it's not like they have that many shows where they don't have any room in the schedule. Budget reasons I assume. Explains Strike Back returning also.

The Knick could possibly work as a 2-hour feature film to tie everything up. Probably easier to align schedules since several have gone on to other projects. Without spoiling, it would be nice to get some closure on what transpired in the final episode of season 2.
As for Quarry - they could make this more of an action-packed drama if they wanted to. The source material is there if they stick to the books. They also explored the Vietnam war a bit and could expand on that. Nearly all of season 1 was a slow-burn. I liked it, but it didn't do very well ratings-wise.

Excellent show, binged the two seasons over the last 10 days or so. Great main cast, Clive Owen was terrific (and holy shit, that final scene with him), and the supporting cast was strong too.

That's convenient. I was super busy traveling for work when season 2 aired so I never got around to finishing it (I think I watched like 3 episodes). Since I am now super not busy working from home, I should probably go ahead and do that.
