Chuck

Being the holidays and finding all seasons of this show on sale, I find myself reliving Friday nights. I am once again enjoying Chuck, Sarah, Casey, Awesome, Morgan and Big Mike. I had forgotten how the show was always showing the heart and emotions of these very diverse characters.

Trying to marathon my way through this show. Just finished "Chuck Versus the Gravitron". What a rough go for Chuck as he comes to realize the depths of Jill's deception.

Always love to see Big Mike in action.

Doug

Re: Chuck

Still a Chuck fan. haven't done a marathon in quite some time. The Christmas/Die hard parody is one of my favorite comedy hours of all time.

Re: Chuck

Awesome show. I just watched all seasons again over the summer in a major binge-a-thon. It really deserved another season + a movie.

Re: Chuck

Funny, I just watched the first episode and came here to see if there was a thread from when this originally aired.

The music choices make this really hard for me to watch. There were a lot of moments like the friend and the ballet girl and the sitting on the beach that made me feel embarrassed to be watching this show. I might give it another episode, but I don't think this show was made for me.

Doctor Phlox and intersect 2.0. Something in the promo about "I got an app for that" reminded me of "Hey guys, I know kung fu."

Will try and check this one out.

What are you looking for? If the pilot doesn't grab you, it may not be right for you. However, it has some great characters, good character development, is funny, suspenseful and has heart.

Might be worth getting through the first season, although 2 is my personal favorite.

Re: Chuck

I marathoned seasons 1 & 2 over the summer. I know it hasn't been off the air long but it hasn't aged a bit. Characters are as charming and funny as ever.

Re: Chuck

I've been thinking about starting a general Chuck thread but not sure if I should wait till taking a marathon journey, so to this.

I have four seasons on BD and three on DVD (season 4 is only on DVD because I got it free, and the BD quality doesn't make that much difference anyway, then I rebought 2 and 3 on DVD cheap for travel purposes). Toss in three episodes I bought on iTunes while on the road, a cheap season 2 on Amazon Video, and season 5 on ultraviolet, and Chuck may be my most-owned TV show ever, with some episodes from season 2 in my collection in four different formats.

I should add this episode to my list of "things you watch every year" because I do. Then while I'm there I usually rewatch "Chuck vs the Suburbs" (one of the iTunes episodes I mentioned earlier) and maybe a few others. This year I overlapped with the comedy challenge and watched nearly half of season 2 and made myself hanker for a marathon. My viewing history was kind of weird, watching a handful of episodes live (including the Christmas one while trimming the tree, and out of the corner of one eye I saw the Die Hard cop appear and said "WTF!") but mostly on optical media till I watched the last season live. I was able to work a lot of my viewing into our challenges because it fits so many--action, TV, comedy, Make Your Own--and a friend was just posting about marathoning the series, which I'd love to do since I watched it in so many fits and starts.

Pic from 2012's Emerald City Comic-Con. Had a hard time picking between Casey and Jayne.

Re: Chuck

Agreed - I love vs the Nemesis from season 1 as an annual Thanksgiving episode. Unfortunately I didn't get to it this year.

Re: Chuck

The last episode ruined the entire series for me and it was probably my favorite TV show of all time up until then. Yvonne Strahovski needs her own series NOW!

Really? Only season 2? I recall you did all the Chuck threads in season one 6 years ago. So you didn't even watch the show or did you drop it?

Re: Chuck

I liked Chuck for a while but I eventually got sick of all the will they/won't they crap with Chuck and whatsherface.

Loved Adam Baldwin.

Also also I thought Chucks sister was hotter than whatsherface. So was Rachel Bilson. He should have stayed with her.

It doesn't seem like her career took off much after Chuck.

Is that an older picture? Casey was a bit plump in the series.
