FX launching new channel come September, FXX
FX is up there with AMC in terms of original programming, so I'm down for new series from this network.
"At its upfront presentation, FX brass confirmed the conversion of Fox Soccer into a third FX-branded entertainment network, FXX, available in 74 homes, and an expansion of FXM (movie channel). It will launch Sept. 2. The expansion across the three FX networks will be supported by a big increase in original programming. FX president John Landgraf projected that FX would double its original offerings to 25 original series within the next few years to achieve parity with ABC, NBC and CBS.
The three channels will target different demographics. FX will continue to cater to adults 18-49, FXX will target adults 18-34 and FXM will go after adults 25-54. “They will share DNA and similar sensibilities for viewers interested in smart, cutting edge programming.” FX will ramp up its drama portfolio from 3 to 7 dramas and 4-6 comedies. FXX, which will be more comedy focused, will launch with 4 original comedies, with the number rising to 6. Gradually, FXX will add drama and late-night programming. FXM’s original programming will be built around limited event series, part of FX-Fox’s joint initiative in the genre.
The network makeover will come with a new branding campaign as FX changes its logo to FX Fearless."

Only available in 74 homes? I guess I better find one of them so I can watch this.
Sounds good to me. FX is second only to AMC, so I'm excited to see what they bring to the table.

WTF with those demographics! I mean, it's good that they are expanding and stuff, but the way they are trying to explain with those demographics...

You're welcome. Is this another hit against me since I proved you wrong about the Pebble Watch which I own and you ran away from that thread never to post again?
When FX actually produces a few decent shows let me know. I only watch Wilfred and American Horror Story (Wife does, it's background noise to me). They are renewing shows with poor ratings (Legit) just to launch a network. Not good business sense.

Meh. Few I would actually watch.
It now makes sense why FX renewed The Americans after such low ratings. I wonder if they will try and get Ryan Murphy to spin-off his AHS show...European Horror Story? Or will they try and buy up the bigger networks canceled shows (like TBS and Cougar Town)?

No, it doesn't. GizmoDVD says it doesn't.
I mean, Justified, The League, The Americans, Sons of Anarchy, Wilfred, Archer, Louie are all just crap. I'm sure The Bridge will be crap this summer, too. It's all just crap.

FX makes great shows, and It's Always Sunny, The League, and Archer are some of the funniest shows on TV right now.
The demographic spread is a little weird, but i'm happy to see them come out with more new original content.

More than doubling it's original drama programming...aggressive. As RD mentioned, hopefully quality isn't compromised.

Crap, my current grandfathered DirecTV package (Choice Xtra Classic) doesn't have Fox Soccer (though regular Xtra does)...
