Sheldon seems to have some form of OCD with regards to neatness, organization and being very scheduled. Just having random amounts of money crumpled in two different pockets and finding some more crumpled bills in his desk is very out of character with Sheldon.
The real Sheldon would know exactly how much money he has and where he's put it - and the bills would be neat and organized.

So is this episode set up for the season finale where Penny will propose to Leonard? That or Raj and Comic Book guy kiss and Raj comes out of the closet?

As SpanishTechno stated, it's not the fact that money doesn't mean much to Sheldon that I had a problem with... it's how disorganized/sloppy his money is.

I don't normally have a problem with gay characters but for some reason I'd be really disgusted if that happened.
I doubt the writers would wait until the show's over for that. The show's not ending any time soon and the writers probably need material. The wedding alone could fill several episodes.

If Raj was gay, I don't think he would be so intimidated by women.

Why have them get married? It would take away the dynamic of Sheldon and Leonard as roomates. Bernadette is the sexiest bitch with the annoying voice I've ever seen. Usually those voices would drive me away but damn she's able to pull it off.

Since this show has big ratings and seems poised to go long, I'm going to guess 10 seasons for it. At the end of Season 8, I'd expect a proposal and a season that goes through the wedding at the end of Season 9. Season 10 will deal with that marriage and Amy/Sheldon moving in.

They need to keep Alex around for her crush on Leonard. I'm sure there will be some break-up to make-up again somewhere along the line. That exchange between Sheldon and Alex was comedy GOLD.

I hope Raj gets to keep the girl and it isn't just forgotten about. I really liked the Penny/Leonard stuff and glad they moved forward a little bit with Penny's fear of commitment.

I cannot for the life of me decide if that chick Raj went off with is hot or not. I remember something to do with her and a Ukallalie back on Scrubs, and having the same dilema. She's like a female DJ Qualls, just kinda doofy.

Outside of Penny, the producers and writers should have ditched the steady girlfriends last season. More of a fan of the Seinfeld mantra of no learning or growing as characters. I really feel this way on traditional sitcoms where you watch every week expecting familiarity.

That was actually Kate Micucci from the band Garfunkel and Oates.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. I hope Raj gets to have a girlfriend for a little while. At least go on a date.
Penny is hot, but this is episode it was hard to believe she'd stick with Leonard, and hard to believe he not only puts up with her, but that he's so pathetic around her.
I'm glad Alex is still around. At least around her and Raj's sister, he acts a little more confident.
Bernadette's crankiness can get annoying. Amy is great though, not so much this episode, but most of the time she's great.

Early in the series, Sheldon said he didn't trust banks. Remember he kept a huge amount of cash in a can guarded by springy snakes & more cash hidden in an action figure.

As for Sheldon and his pile of cash money... I have a friend who is totally OCD about almost everything, but food. So I don't think it would be a leap to think that he doesn't apply the same rules of neatness to EVERYTHING around him.

Sheldon's assistant needs to be permanently added to the cast right away.

We saw an episode where he had a wad of cash all neat and tidy. And he knew exactly how much of his take home pay was applied to rent/expenses. So it is out of character that he would have crumpled untidy bills laying around without knowing exactly where they are and how much it totalled.
