Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States - Showtime - 11/12/12
There is a classified America we were never meant to see. From Academy AwardŽ-winning writer/director Oliver Stone, this ten-part documentary series looks back at human events that at the time went under reported, but that crucially shaped America's unique and complex history over the 20th century. From the atomic bombing of Japan to the Cold War and the fall of Communism, this in-depth, surprising, and totally riveting series demands to be watched again and again.

Sounds very interesting, but once I heard Oliver Stone was involved I figured it would be littered with conspiracies and liberal bias.

I don't know about the liberal part, but you can bet it will be full of conspiracy theories. In this month's Scientific American there's a short article that points out that people who believe in one conspiracy theory tend to believe a lot of them.

So is this by "World Trade Center"/"W."-Oliver Stone, or "JFK"/"Nixon"-Oliver Stone? Because, if its the former, then forget it.

I watched this last night. I liked it. It reminded me of watching the History channel 10 years ago. I'm looking forward to more episodes.

I haven't seen it yet, but I tend to think that if it was really a great show, HBO would have picked it up instead of Showtime. After all, Showtime is 3rd rate. First is HBO. Second, apparently, is AMC (Mad Men, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad). My family always picks "Dexter" on Showtime as the 3rd show to watch out of all the OnDemand programs we missed on Sunday because we were too tired to stay up.

Stone has a relationship with Showtime, they air all of his Fidel Castro interviews.

Homeland is not better than Boardwalk Empire.
So George W. Bush is Commodus from Gladiator?
Funny how he thought Reagan was worse than Nixon.
