Breaking Bad -- "Fifty-One" -- 8/05/12

Walt's letting his Heisenberg personality take over. I like how he's deciding on whether or not to kill Skylar and when Jesse gives him the watch, he seems genuinely moved. He's realizing the bond between him and Jesse is stronger than the one with Skylar. Great stuff.

Mike has been solid gold since his fist episode, but yeah, that was terrific. And he was probably right. The buffoon bitch would be just that obvious in what she considers 'clever schemes'.

It seemed like the clock was ticking down on Skyler ...

The shot of Skyler slowly walking to the pool while walt was telling stories was pretty haunting

Holy shit, Walt is a sociopath.
Intense episode.
Skyler's little comeback "I thought you were the danger" was gold, though. She had some good lines in this ep, and I loved how she just admitted that while she wasn't a psychotic mastermind like Walt and had no real plan, so what? All his plans won't save him from that cancer.

anybody else notice the fly poster behind Walt during the discussion about the GPS on the barrel? Nice wink to the audience.

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is becoming a liability to Walt. How long before he takes care of that problem permanently. Another cover story they can tell Hank & Marie is that she is dealing with post partum depression.
Wasn't Hank expected to never walk again by the doctors? The man is superhuman. Didn't Gomez take that big job somewhere else that Hank was up for at one point?

I hope this Heisenberg case doesn't suffer due to Hank taking the new position. Hopefully Gomez will be in charge, and I'll bet Hank will give him a lot of resources.
I think Mike was right in trying to get rid of that woman, she seemed like a lot of trouble.
Jesse giving Walt the gift was a nice moment. To see Walt wearing it, not taking it for granted was great.

I can't see the case taking a hit Hank has to find out about Walt, it will be a HUGE disappointment if that doesn't happen.

if you remember, Marie gave Hank a handjob in the season 3 finale and he said if he "got hard" Hank would be able to go home

Damn the tension in this episode in spots actually made me uncomfortable. The scene with Walt, Skyler, Hank, and Marie sitting around the table and Skyler just getting up and walking over to the pool and then when she just walked in casually and went under. The bedroom scene with Skyler and Walt. Walt is just downright sadistic at this point. He really doesn't care who he hurts as long as he's okay.
Jesse again proves to be one of the more noble characters left on the show. Despite being involved in the meth business, he's definitely been manipulated by Walt. He still at least has decency left in him though and he genuinely cares about Walt even after all the shit that he's put him through.

Spoiler:
EIther way, I root for him. He's the hero of the show.
Kind of like Mickey and Mallory in Natural Born Killers. Or any antihero, really.
Okay, in the world in which the show exists... Skyler and Hank's wife are really the bad guys. Whether Hank gets killed, or catches Walt, or whatever, that's cool - it'll be heartbreaking and ironic. If/when Skyler gets killed, it'll be a sigh of relief that Walt can move on.

Hank's wife has been perfectly fine, I don't get the hate for her. She took care of Hank and took his shit all the way through therapy, and this season she's only been seen twice, both with concern for her sister, who completely unloaded on her.

According to the CDC's website, "No widely available, reliable medical test exists to confirm that a person has been exposed to ricin."
$10 says Walt uses it on Skylalalalar. Soon.

Great episode. I think Lydia is a great character, loved her screaming into the pillow.
Am I the only one that heard a photo-like 'click' when the second hand hit its last tick? The watch would probably be a good way for someone to spy on Walt, but I have no idea why Jessie would want to do it...unless he realized Walt planted the cigarette in the Roomba.

Walt was always motivated to provide for his family, but now it looks like his kids are more important to him.
Skyler's a ticking time bomb, too. He's got the ricin and he can always toss her body in the pool to make it looked like she drowned. Hank/Marie wouldn't have any reason to suspect Skyler committing suicide after already watching her try it once. Walt's plausible deniability is that this time, he just wasn't around to save her.
Something's gotta happen for him to take his wedding ring off.
