Re: Scream: The Series (MTV) -- Series Thread -- premieres 6/30/15

I wanted all of these people to die. Vapid characters. I can see why they released the first 8 minutes because it was the best part of the episode. The rest was so mediocre.

Let me guess, the killer is the bowl-cut guy.

Re: Scream: The Series (MTV) -- Series Thread -- premieres 6/30/15

I enjoyed it. I think it did a good job of establishing a lot of characters in a short time, with a number of them having plausible culpability. I also liked the geeky guy's speech near the end about what the show needs to be... while it was a bit *too* self-referential even for Scream, at least it tells us the writers/showrunners understand exactly what this show needs to be to work.

I'm trying to remember the very end, DJariya... I think that was it, but I'm not entirely sure.

Re: Scream: The Series (MTV) -- Series Thread -- premieres 6/30/15

I'll probably continue watching... but this was shitty. I know it's MTV, but the acting and direction was horrible. The voice on the phone was cheesy and lame.

Too bad Bella Thorne couldn't stick around.

There should've been some sort of reference to Woodsboro.

DJariya - The doofy kid who got left in the lake was narrating. He's talking to someone on the phone, looks in his rearview mirror, wipes his hair/brow to reveal blood on his forehead.

Re: Scream: The Series (MTV) -- Series Thread -- premieres 6/30/15

The voice on the phone could have been better, they didn't make an attempt at all to duplicate the Scream voice.

This pilot wasn't horrible though it obviously lacked the wit and energy of the original Scream. I did like the meta-references made by the smart kid. The actresses seemed pretty bland, I could see several of them getting killed off by season's end.

I probably won't watch it regularly unless someone here claims it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I thought the pilot was ok. A couple of people playing the teens look old. I kind of like that the main girl's mom has a part in story.

It came off more like "Shriek" by Asylum than "Scream: The Series."

Given that it was an MTV show and who they cast and had directing it wasn't too bad I guess. I'm sure I'll see it out for the rest of the series, albeit via OnDemand.

I didn't think this was terrible but it wasn't that great either. I think if it had been done on a different network other than MTV and didn't have such cliche high school characters it would be a lot better. I'm interested enough to keep watching throughout the season because there's not a whole lot of other shows I'm watching at the moment and I like the whodunit aspect and am curious to see that revealed.

Re: Scream: The Series (MTV) -- Series Thread -- premieres 6/30/15

Damn. That was terrible.

I've liked a couple MTV scripted shows in the past, so my bar wasn't set that high.

ABC Family does a good job at casting high school characters, so the quality could have been there if this was in better hands.

Maybe they should have done a nationwide casting call instead of just at the local Abercrombie & Fitch store.

I thought the second episode was somewhat of an improvement, but not much. Most of the dialogue on this is just so awful.

I do really like the lead actress though and think she is appealing. She has a Heather Langenkamp quality to her.

Forgot to set my DVR for a series recording of this. I'll catch the second episode on a re-run.

The guy who plays Noah is terrible. He's like a poor man's Jamie Kennedy from the original movie. Some of his dialogue, especially with the Asian girl was cringe worthy.

I agree with you. I do like Willa Fitzgerald. She has some charm to her.

Was surprised they killed off Audrey's girlfriend at the beginning. I guess this show is going to have a pretty high body count when the season is over.

Looks like its going to be at least one murder per episode - although hopefully they don't do the murder in the opening scene all the time.
That will be boring after a while.

Also one of the murders will probably be Tylers head being found. I wouldn't be surprise if thats the murder in next weeks episode.
They have to eliminate him from being a suspect soon.

I enjoyed the second episode. I agree with others on the lead girl. The lesbian character Audrey became a tad more likable imo in this episode. The Asian girl Riley has improved.

I think the podcaster will be the one to reveal who Daisy is.

Re: Scream: The TV Series (MTV) -- Series Thread -- premieres 6/30/15

Damnit, they killed off the cute Asian girl. Honestly I liked looking at Riley more than hearing her talk, especially with that Noah guy.

Her death scene was pretty cringe worthy. Total horror cliches, running into a closed off alley with no where to go. Didn't even have the common sense to try to get back inside the Sheriff's office. She had more than enough time. And I was when the janitor was wearing a headset and of course he couldn't hear her screams.

That slutty chick Brooke annoys me. I mean really? Placing a naughty photo in her lover's classroom.

This was a pretty bad episode. The opening kill scene was pretty good though.

I thought this was a pretty good episode.

Finally moving forward with Emma and her mom.

Getting the cops involved was good.

Making Emma choose the next victim was brutal.

Homage to Elm Street with the scraping of the blade in the alley.

Homage to Suspiria with the girl falling back onto the glass ceiling window.

After plodding through 4 and a half seasons of Pretty Little Liars before finally giving up, this show is like Hitchcock in comparison.

Did I also see homage to F13 with the Mrs. Voorhees sweater Noah was wearing at school?

I have a hunch only the uglier cast members survive this season.

Got caught up on the last two episodes. Sad about Riley. I was a bit surprised about the Mayor, he will probably killed off by the end of the season.
