I thought the same thing with her Monday performance. I haven't been watching everything, but told my wife that it sounded like she was making fun of country more than anything.

Christina didn't vote to keep Chris Mann. The audience voted him through as the high vote getter in her group. I am not sure who the favorite is at this point. Last year it was clear that Javier was the front runner.

What's more distressing than knowing who the favorite is, I don't even know who my favorite is. I have no strong desire to hear any of them sing. With Javier, I couldn't wait each week to see what he'd do.
Xtina did put Chris Mann through because during instant elimination, she didn't choose him to be eliminated. That was before the public even had a chance to vote.

Bump
Tonight the Quarterfinals continue.
Cee-Lo and Adam's teams perform. I assume they will follow the same format as last week.
I was a little busy last week and finally managed to watch last week's episode last night. Very disappointed that X-Tina eliminated Jesse and Ashley and kept Lindsay.

First 3 acts have been awful, yet loved by the judges.
I don't know how to say this without sounding like a smartass, but I have a real question. Is James' hairdo a thing somewhere in the country? I think I have really only seen special needs girls wear their hair with a headband like that, at least counting people out of elementary school.

As much as I loved Season One, I am beginning to hate Season Two.
Read an interview in which Adam said that the contestants this year are much more nervous since the show is now a bigger deal compared to season one.
I still leave it on while multi-tasking, but most of the performances are really hard to listen to. My wife commented about how most of the females use that breathy, slightly off-key, little-girl voice (I think it's supposed to be 'edgy'). Lots of slurred lyrics from the Adele/Winehouse school of enunciation.
The best acts got the boot earlier. This show is becoming more of an American Idol clone as opposed to being the anti-Idol last year. Hate to say it, but I like the AI remaining contestants better.
Maybe next season will be better. Otherwise, there are a lot of DVDs waiting to be watched.

I rather enjoyed Tony Lucca singing a Britney Spears song as an f u to Christina for her comments on him the other week.

Absolutely no surprise as to who was going home. Could have guessed it before the show.

Spoiler alert: Jamar is going to win. He's got the perfect mix of emotional back story, good voice and entertaining performer. Can't imagine anyone else winning.
Juliet remains my favorite. Love the music she sings, love her aura.
Everyone else is take it or leave it. Though I did also like Tony Luccas rendition of Hit Me Baby One More Time and the fact that it was clearly a fuck you to Christina.

Juliet looks a LOT better than she did at the beginning.
I'm still guessing Chris Mann.
Who did Lucca's version originally? Not the Britney original, but the version that he copied. I remember hearing it a lot but can't remember who did it.

BTW it drives me crazy that Cee Lo has to clear his throat every time he talks.

I think Juliette Sims deserves to win this whole damn thing. That was an amazing performance. She had her moment.

The public voted for Katrina 52/48, but since Adam gave Tony a 60/40 split, he advanced. Too bad, but ultimately I don't think that either one would have won.
I think that at this point of the competition, you need to do a fairly well known song (ie not Bon Iver), and just sing the hell out of it. From who is left, I think that Chris & Juliet are the two with the best chance at delivering one of those powerhouse performances based on their voices but I'm thinking at this point that it is probably Juliet's to lose.

How come Blake did not get a chance to comment on Juliet's performance?
Christina can''t praise Juliet only without padding her own shoulder with her performance of the same song in the Grammy. Of course, I went Youtube to look it up. Juliet blew Christina's performance outa the ballpark.
This competition is Juliet's to lose.

I don't think I'd buy a Juliette album, but she does sound a level above Tony and Jermaine. That said, I still think I like Chris' sound the most.
Damn - forgot how good Havier sounds. Glad they brought him back.
Is next week finale and are they doing original performances again?

In addition to this driving me crazy, I hate that Adam & Christina (especially Christina) has to stop their comments to tell fans that yell out to them that they love them as well. To me, it's pretty rude to the people who they are critiquing.

Re: The Voice -- The Live Performances Thread -- Mondays/Tuesdays (NBC)
She must have turned him down at some point, as she's clearly carrying around some major resentment! Either that, or she really hates Justin Timberlake.
Christina's obvious disdain for Tony is distracting. She's my least favorite judge and IMO, the weak link on the judging panel. She's just too full of herself to fairly critique others, especially those not on her team. She always has to sing portions of their song or strut out on to the stage to overshadow the contestant. The hair accessories and extreme cleavage only magnify that "Look at me!" vibe.
I never thought I'd like Cee Lo, Blake or Adam, as I mostly don't care for their music. However, I find myself enjoying their personalities and actually wanting to enjoy their music as an extension of that. Prior to The Voice, I could take Christina or leave her. Now, I can't stand her and can't imagine ever buying a song of hers. Funny how that worked out!
