Just in case no one saw the other thread I bumped--Paul (Lord Wyndemere) Brittain left the show this last week.

Channing Tatum? ... him? ... talk about overexposure ... I can think of a better way to kill 90 minutes than watch SNL with him on it.

He left on his own accord, or at least that's what he's saying.
Channing Taintum is going to kill it tonight! Kidding, he'll probably be slightly more lively than a cardboard cutout. |

It's embarrassing how white this season has been.

Well look at the bright side, with Paul gone the percentage of Caucasians on the show has decreased.

Looking forward to the musical guest, I'm thinking we'll get Holocene & Skinny Love.
Oh, and if Channing Tatum is any good at this I'll throw my remote through the TV. Can life not be perfect for this guy? He's not that talented but good directors keep using him, Sam Wothington is less wooden.

Hoping for a return of "The Fingerlings" to interrupt the Superbowl viewing.

Re: SNL 02/04/12 - H: Channing Tatum - MG: Bon Iver
The first third has been pretty good. The cold open was clever and the monologue was better than I could've hoped for. Cee Loo was good as was the Downton Abbey on Spike Bit...
... then the momentum was killed by Wiig's crazy Game Show Celeb. At least Bon Iver is getting us back on track.

I must say, I've never heard of Bon Iver, but I enjoyed their first tune. Multi-instrumentalists are cool!

I think Channing did a pretty good job. He gave himself totally the show and did a good job.

Re: SNL 02/04/12 - H: Channing Tatum - MG: Bon Iver
Wasn't a fan of this episode. The Bat Mitzvah dance thing was humorous at times, some of the inane things Cee-Lo Green said were funny, but beyond that, I don't recall anything else I liked. I was hoping for a Stefon segment, maybe next week.

Re: SNL 02/04/12 - H: Channing Tatum - MG: Bon Iver
Tatum wasn't bad but they didn't give him anything good to work with. When I saw they were doing a bar skit about the Super Bowl I was hoping we'd get a Matt Damon/Ben Affleck/Jimmy Fallon guest appearance. Instead that fat guy is now getting over exposed. Not funny as Guy either.

Re: SNL 02/04/12 - H: Channing Tatum - MG: Bon Iver
The reason I would want to watch this is because Tatum is so dry and predictable in all of his movies. I want to see what he can do for laughs. 21 Jump Street looks great but I would love to see him improv. Sucks that the episode doesn't sound like it was that good.

Re: SNL 02/04/12 - H: Channing Tatum - MG: Bon Iver
Didn't care for this episode at all. Channing Tatum showed some promise in the monologue and as Matt McConnaghey, but the rest was just bad. The workout bit was just horrendous, Wiig at her worst.
As for the musical guest... I like my share of indie music, but Bon Iver is one of those bands whose appeal goes completely over my head. I've tried several times to give them a chance, but I think it's just not my thing. |

Re: SNL 02/04/12 - H: Channing Tatum - MG: Bon Iver
I've never seen Tatum in anything before, in fact for the longest time I mistook him for that Hartnett actor, but he was pretty good on the show. Bon Iver sounded good. Kristen Wiig needs to be dropped asap. She adds absolutely nothing to any of the skits she partakes in.

I haven't watched SNL in a couple of years but with everyone echoing your statement isn't it time for her to pack it in? She proved she can handle film with Bridesmaids so maybe she should call it quits.

Why did I think that Channing Tatum was Australian?

4 things I liked about this episode. The opening skit, the NBC skit, and Abby Elliott's boobs in the Bat Mitzvah skit.
