I don't go into the show expecting a lot, - its all very contrived but sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn't, and I'll probably keep it on my DVR, -but the Western episode, -at least the payoff of visiting the rinky-dink "theme town", -was all kinds of awful. I wish they'd stick with bringing in Comics talent, and preferably people we don't see as much (like John Romita, Jr).

I don't know or keep up with comics, writers or artists, but the Romita episode was all kinds of awesome. We definitely need more of that and less 'western/wookie contest/etc.' filler.

I had no idea (until I read the episode's DVR log-line) that Jason Mewes had gotten married and had a child. It only seems like a few years ago when he was sleeping on Kevin Smith's couch. Never figured he'd actually get his stuff together (assuming this means he has).

The ep. with the guy trying to sell Batman Adventures #12 was stupid. His copy was a POS and Walt offered to give him $700 for it and he turned it down.

lol. that segment made me laugh. I sold an extra copy of that very same issue, in better condition, over 6 months ago for 400 bucks.
I would have sold that issue for 700 bucks in a heartbeat if I still had it.

All four of them - Bryan Johnson - Walt Flanagan - Michael Zapcic - Ming Chen are scheduled to appear at the Nickel City Con this summer.
Nickel City Con is a two day convention to be held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center in Buffalo, NY. on Saturday, August 13/Sunday, August 14.
All four are scheduled to sign on both Saturday and Sunday.

The headliners for the Nickel City Con are - Ric Flair - Sean Astin - Ray Park - Brett Dalton - Brian O'Halloran.
Ric Flair is only scheduled to sign on Sunday while the rest are scheduled to sign on both Saturday and Sunday.

I know one of my friends would be interested in getting autographs of a few of the people I listed above so perhaps I'll tag along with him one of the days.
I wouldn't mind getting Ric Flair autograph (along with Sean Astins/Ray Parks autographs) on some stuff like DVDs so I would have to convince him to go on Sunday.

I believe that started after she married Mewes. I haven't listened to his podcasts lately, but a few years ago Smith was regularly dropping her name in regards to admin/logistics stuff for projects they were working on. He frequently gave her props for being the one that had her shit together and kept Jason on track.

Phoenix Jones the guy on the show probably can do it since he is in shape.

I thought it was interesting meeting Phoenix Jones. I had never heard of him before this episode. He seemed to have a real intensity to his persona, I don't think he was faking.

The way that guy handled the Action #1 without gloves made me cringe. Anyone in their right mind would have had that book slabbed. Something felt off with the book itself. It looked just as good as the one that sold for $3 mil. Was it even real?

Yeah, I couldn't believe that. He just picked it up and started flipping through it like it was an old Sports Illustrated in a waiting room. Not even wearing gloves. That book is almost a century old and printed on cheap newsprint; I'd be afraid the damned thing would fall apart. It might have been a facsimile copy they used for the show. I don't know...

By the way that was Steve Geppi who owns Diamond Comics. (I always thought his last name had a hard "g.")

That museum looked really cool for comic book fans.

I cringed as well when they handled Action Comics #1 with seemingly little care. Of all the pages they show on camera, Geppi picked out some random page with ads.

Perhaps that was intentional, -something to do with rights. As a long-time Comics fan I knew of the Geppis, but I knew nothing of the museum. I'd love to see it.

I never heard of the museum, and I only live about an hour away from Baltimore. I'm definitely gonna have to check that place out.
And I had the exact same thoughts about the handling of the comic. He was practically bending it in half!
