Does anyone know the season 4 DVD release date?

The DVD/Blu-ray looks like it comes out right before the next season premieres. So I would expect it next summer.

Thanks mcfly. Once I get done with S3 in the next week, I may need to order S4 on Amazon instant video to watch the episodes, then double-dip on the DVD set.

Man, I marathoned season 4. Wow, what a ride.

Mike is my favorite character and I'm happy that he's still alive. I know a lot of people are predicting a Walt vs. Jesse showdown. Honestly, I don't see it that way. They've been like glue, the only thing you could really count on when everything else goes to shit, is that they won't betray each other. But maybe that's what the writers will use to surprise us. I'm stoked. It's insane that a show is this consistently good.

But they've betrayed each other numerous times over the course of the show...

The only thing is that Jesse doesn't know about most of Walt's betrayals.

They've always had each other's back. I think that was a major crux this past season with Gus. He couldn't get either one of them to separate from the other. Walt's done some shitty things but he's been protective of Jesse like a father.

Yes, Walt has been more of a father to Jesse than his own son. This twisted family dynamic they have is so compelling to watch. The best example I can think of is Walt taking out those 2 dealers on the corner - in such a fucking spectacular way - to save Jesse from having the blood on his hands. With all that being said, I don't know what Jesse will do if and when he finds out how Walt manipulated him with that kid getting sick. That was as low as Walt has ever gone. I don't know how you come back from something like that.

Here are my wildly obtuse predictions:

- It's going to come down to Hank vs. Walt and Jesse
- Jesse is going to take out Mike in an act of loyalty towards Walt
- Walt is going to wrestle with having to kill Hank or let himself be caught and his whole family knowing the truth about him.

I think your first point is spot on. Hank will have to be involved with getting close to finding out about Walt, it's the last season, there has to be a blow up between them.

I don't agree with your second point. First, I don't see Mike necessarily going after Walt. Mike was a hired gun, his loyalty to Gus was paper thin. I do think Mike will be involved and I don't think he'll be very friendly with Walt... but I don't see Mike going after Walt for killing Gus. So I don't see why Jesse would need to kill Mike.

Since the show is about Walt breaking bad and has progressively gotten deeper in the shit, I do see Walt eventually killing Hank. Killing Hank in cold blood for getting close to finding out the truth would be the ultimate breaking bad moment and would officially make Walt evil. Then the next chain of events leads to Jesse having to kill Walt and us seeing Jesse as the hero. Either this or the plot leads to Walt killing Jesse, which would likely 'hurt' the viewer more and in the end Hank finds out about Walt and arrests him. However they do it, I expect the show to lead us to root against Walt this season.

Re: Breaking Bad -- season finale -- "Face Off" -- 10/9/11

Since we're making predictions, might as well throw in my guess.

-Walt's last medical visit was really bad news. His cancer will kill him. Walt will make one last batch but a small detail left unnoticed will lead Hank to have all the pieces to learn who Heisenberg is but not until after he's buried. Walt will have won in that sense, having not been caught by Hank while alive, but he will discover that his drug manufacturing has hit home - Walt Jr. will turn to drugs and become an addict to his father's product. Edited to add: Perhaps Jesse will find out Walt poisoned his GF's kid and Jesse will introduce the product to Walt's son as payback.

-More flashbacks - I've never forgotten the scene where Sklur lit up a smoke while she was pregnant with the baby. We'll find out she was an addict before she knew she was pregnant with Walt Jr., which could have caused his palsy. Which could lend credence to Walt Jr. becoming an addict as well.

-Ultimately I think Jesse will end up getting arrested by Hank. He can't properly operate once Walter's out of the picture. Kind of crazy because he was so close to getting arrested by Hank in the pilot.

-Mike's only employer left has skipped town, so I think he will work for a short time as Heisenberg's muscle. He's a true mercenary. I have no idea how they're going to bring Saul back into the picture.

Re: Breaking Bad -- season finale -- "Face Off" -- 10/9/11

Just finished this episode. Unreal. This is now my second favorite dramatic series ever. Tense, exciting episode that could've easily been the series finale.

All of the speculation about who is going to kill Gus? Walt or Jessie? Kind of funny now! Loved watching Hector's expression change as he started ringing his little bell.

Glad I'm not the only one who was a little confused as to HOW Walt was able to poison the boy. He's a smug, evil prick now.

After watching 45 episodes in a month and a half, I now have to wait until summer to watch 1 episode per week.
I hope S5 isn't going to be anticlimactic.

I just finished watching the finale of season 4 after marathoning all of the seasons in a week. God, I can't think of any other show where I've gone from rooting for someone, to hoping they get shot in the face, like I have with Walt. It's amazing to think that his actions have ruined SO many lives. And to think, if he excepted the money from his old friends, none of this would have happened.

Granted, he's been responsible for the death of some bad people, but I'm thinking the whole point of this show is to show that Walt is the true cancer. He ruined everything he's come in contact with since he's broken bad. I can't stand him, but I love not being able to stand him.

Cranston is amazing.

Re: Breaking Bad -- season finale -- "Face Off" -- 10/9/11

Oh boy oh boy. For years I have gone ignoring this show, watching other stuff instead, thinking my plate was too full for another show to watch. That was a huge mistake.

I started watching Breaking Bad for the first time on 1/6/2012, just earlier this month, and last night I finally made it up to this episode and have officially caught up with everyone else. I watched them just back to back, whenever I had spare time. It goes without saying, but I agree with most people with this being one of the best shows, if not the best dramatic show, of all time. Each episode just builds, one on top of the other, and there is almost never a drop in quality. Heck, I even loved the episode with Walt and Jesse down in the lab trying to kill the fly.

I'm glad I can start watching the next season with everyone else. But let me tell you this, after watching the first four seasons back to back in just 20 days, the wait between episodes this coming season is going to be TORTURE!

I missed this during the Oscars last night, but my brother just told me about it. It's a promo for a new ABC show called Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23. Watch until the end.

Yeah, I saw that during the Oscars and did a double-take, then scrambled to hit reverse on my DVR to watch it again.
