Why is Alex being activated so early? Didn't they say something in the first episode about agents having to train for a year before activation?

I think they said that they needed to divert resources to the Nikita problem, so Alex is being fast-tracked for that effort.

Jon Cassar, who was one of the directors on 24 and also directed many episodes of the La Femme Nikita USA series, posted a tweet last week on this show and said he liked it. He thought it was a nice looking series with great leads and sets. The only thing he didn't like was Shane West as Michael.

I liked this episode even more than the Pilot. They did a good job of mixing the "case of the week" with the larger story arc. It cracked me up that the computer guru kept insisting on calling his hacker program "Shadownet."

Besides the hot Nikita, I dug the actor Rob Stewert. He was a lead in the show Painkiller Jane and he was pretty cool as that assassin with the dark frame glasses in the pilot. I hope he comes out more.
As far as that young chick she doesnt look that special. Was she a twilight reject?

Man, I hope this show stays good (and/or gets even better). I need something to replace 24.
I need it so bad. I'm going through Bauer withdrawal!
But that little runt they insist on making Nikita's "protege" is nothing, special at all. How did I know they would find a way to shoehorn some little white girl into this show as a semi main-lead. I was surprised enough that Maggie Q ended up as Nikita. I knew they couldn't leave it be.

Haven't watched episode 2 yet, but this is a nice little interview with Maggie.

She mentions the Red bathing suit from the Pilot and even acknowledges she was way out of her league body-wise compared to all the other voluptuous extras.

Enjoyed this episode almost as much as the first. Here's hoping it continues to be good. Since it's on the WB, it could last forever if it's half-way decent. :P

Finally watched this tonight. I liked it even more then the Pilot. I'm actually a little surprised how sarcastic Nikita has been. IMO, it's a good thing, it definitely brings a different edge to the lead character.
I really enjoyed the backstory of Nikita and Alex's relationship. It looked like Nikita and Alex were interacting over a private encrypted connection during their IM chats. It's a TV show, so I'm not going to question the plausibility of it any further. I have to assume in the final scene that Nikita meant that Division played a role in the death of Alex's parents.
I hope we get to see more of the badass assassin with the dark rimmed glasses from the Pilot.
There were a couple of pretty cool shootouts in this episode. I liked how Percy told Michael to clean up the mess from that subway shootout by pinning the entire thing on that war criminal...and then Michael just shoots him right in the head.

Nice job on this series so far, I saw Le Femme Nikita in Cannes the year it came out (did not speak French, but I got the vibe of the film. Never saw the series preceding this one.

I do hope, though, that Nikita and Michael don't start having a stare down with guns drawn every episode. That was the only semi-lame thing in the episode.
I actually thought that he was the 'inquisitor' but I thought it was cool it turned out to be the woman that does the makeup and clothes.

I've enjoyed this so much that I'm dumping the Office for it since Thursdays are so crowded. I like everything about it except for Alex thus far.
I'm enjoying West more in this than I did in ER and we're only two episodes in. However, he really needs to lose that 'pursed lips' thing he does in every other scene.
