This show just keeps swinging for the fences and connecting more often than not. Enjoyed the "Dream on" duet, their final scream was hilariously executed.

Wonderful episode. Safety Dance was amazing.
Also loved the duet at the end with Idina Menzel & Lea Michele.
Good job writers and Joss too.

I have to admit...I rewound and watched the Safety Dance segment about 4 times!!! Awesome, and great to see Artie be able to get out of the chair.

I usually clear my DVR of shows after I watch them, but I can't bear to clear the last 4 episodes of Glee from the DVR just yet.

The "Safety Dance" number lived up to my expectations. Much to the annoyance of everyone around me, I'd been muttering that song ever since kstublen posted the upcoming song segments (thanks so much for that, kstuben). [Funny when Kevin McHale slammed Cory Monteith's dancing.]
I've said before the guest appearances stall things for me (speaking personally), but the choices of who is on no one could complain about. There's enough going on with the core characters and subplots for the writers and the audience to chew on without "guest appearances" skipping in (then out).
The one exception is Idina Menzel. She's so wonderfully wicked at being the arch enemy as well as the complications she seems to be bringing Rachel. Glancing ahead at the song choices one can surmise how that all works out. Nevertheless, Menzel's moment with Lea Michele and "I Dreamed a Dream" is the stuff that makes this show such a winner for me.
The writing in this episode seemed lesser and just an excuse to set up the songs. (Other than the devious plot turn around Menzel which was given its due by the writers.) But when they said "tryouts for 'Les Misérables'" the stage was set for all sorts of reverberations with the cast and the emotion of that show. It was used effectively and made me cheer.
And the Lady Gaga stuff looks like it's going to be one great big party.

I remember awhile back people were wondering why they didn't cast an actual disabled person as Artie -now we know.
I noticed they changed the lyrics to Safety Dance. I guess dancing from "pole to pole" means something different in 2010 than it did in 1984.

I've been watching it on hulu, on what seems to be an endless repeat. I've even caught a few of the glee kids in there dancing.

Idina as Rachel's mom - I saw that coming from 10 miles away.
interesting that they'd do a flashmob dream dance sequence since there was a legit real one done in Milan for 'Glee' euro tv debut.

I didn't like the episode. The stories weren't very compelling and there wasn't enough humor. I don't particularly like Artie's voice so I didn't care too much for his "Safety Dance" or his "Dream a Little Dream." "Dream On" was very good though.

I didn't. Well, I did...but there was an article I posted that said that while Idina was going to be on the show, she was NOT going to play her Mom.
Clearly the Glee folks either lied to the writer or asked them not to reveal the Mother part.

Yeah there are a bunch of Glee Flashmobs on Youtube. I LOVE them. It's like, Glee makes me feel good the way Pushing Daisies used to me feel good. You can't watch either show or anything associated with them without smiling.

OR, Idina is not really her mother and she's making Rachel think she is so she can mess with her head. This is, after all, a Ryan Murphy show.
