Classic episode. I really enjoyed it. To me, this is what the show has always been about, a strong emotional core.
Loved the cough gag and "Eating my vegetables is not a Mother's Day Gift" on the chalkboard.
Had a lot of good one-liners and visual gags. I liked breaking the fourth wall" jokes as well ("This narration thing is tiring" and "How innocuous will your flashback be?").
I think Apu's flashback made me laugh the most. "I don't know what my grandfather saw in your grandfather" and "If only that mark on your forehead was an off button" killed me. I also liked how Moe didn't know Manjula's name and called her She-Pu.
Otto tripping was pretty good.
"The truth." - Homer
"The truth." - Apu
"The ruth." - Ralph, lol
"Patty and Selma smoked while I was pregnant with them." - Grandma Bouvier
"Actually, Milhouse and I are next." - Kirk Van Houten
"Dude, there's no suspense in dropping you off." - Otto
"Take it from a guy that has no one except a blow-up doll, and even she left me...shouldn't have used helium." - Moe
The show had a strong beginning, middle, and end. The three story format worked very well and the plot was something I don't think we've seen before. It was nice to see Moe helping the guys out and respecting what they have because he doesn't have it. I'd actually like to see Maya back at some point so Moe can get some happiness, but I don't know how realistic that would be.
The photos at the end were a nice touch.

This episode got me thinking: obviously both Grandpa and (to a much lesser extent) Marge's mom have played roles in this series. We've seen Homer's mom in two episodes, and again last night in the picture.
Have we ever gotten much information on, or an appearance from, Marge's father? I've seen every episode of this show, but I honestly can't remember if we have.

^ The first appearance that comes to mind is the epside "Fear of Flying" from Season 6. Marge's dad appears in a flashback as a flight attendant. He may have made other appearances, but that's the only one that comes to mind. To me, it always seemed implied that he died at some point before the show's start.
Edit: He may have also appeared in the episode where Homer tries to take Marge to prom but she goes with that Artie dude instead.

Yeah, the only time I ever remember seeing him was in Fear Of Flying, but apparently that was his second appearance; the first being The Way We Was, although frankly I can't remember him at all in that episode whereas I can clearly remember Patty, Selma, and Grandma Bouvier.
EDIT: Marge's dad's name is Clancy, which I didn't know. Her mom's name is Jacqueline, which I'm sure I knew at some point but forgot.

Not too much info on Marge's dad. I too only remember just one episode with him in it (fear of flying).
Would be nice if the writers could flesh him out.. and not with some guest star voice gimmick.
However - last night was a good episode. I enjoyed Moe as the narrator
