Cougar Town -- "Letting You Go" -- 04/28/10

Cougar Town

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Travis' acceptance to two colleges---one in California, the other closer to home---generates mixed emotions in Jules. Meanwhile, Laurie mulls her relationship with Smith (Ryan Devlin) when he returns from law school, and Andy dreams of a world without Ellie's rules.

Too bad Sheryl Crow is gone. I thought they could have used the character successfully in a few more episodes. Crow was actually quite a decent actress - better than I expected anyway. However since this IS a Bill Lawrence show, it is entirely possible that the character will return later on down the road.

Anyone else notice they used the school campus from Scrubs?

I though this show looked terrible from a few minutes I'd seen here and there but I watched most of this episode and it was pretty funny. I got a kick out of "diet bitch"

Did anyone see when Busy Phillips was on Craig Ferguson last week? She mentioned how this show's name is gonna be changed next season because of the way the show "changed" and re-found it self mid-season.

Interesting. Courtney Cox's character isn't very cougar-ish so it makes sense, though it seems like it would be difficult to rebrand an existing show.

BTW, this show gets no love around here but I think it is hilarious.

The montage of Andy, Tom, and Grayson set to Enya cracked me up.

Yeah, I hope people check this out when it hits DVD (too bad it isn't getting a Blu) because it's grown on me like I never would have imagined.

The show started off Iffy but has gotten better mid season. It has become more of an ensemble show. I am glad it has evolved into this. Funny writing and everyone in the cast seems to click.

It's one of my favorite shows. I don't think there's been an episode yet that I didn't like.

There are a few loyal watchers here, but not many. Saying that, this was one of the weaker efforts, IMO. Still had some funny parts, but not as good as most of the other episodes.

I caught that. Made me laugh. Bill Lawrence did need to search far for THAT location.

Laurie carved DIE BITCH into Jules' table and that was Jules' solution. LOL!

That would just be a bad idea IMHO. This is a really funny show that seems to not be maintaining its lead-in from Modern Family in the ratings... they lost a third of the lead-in. What do people switch to at 9:30? The second half of American Idol?

Changing the show's name is an excellent idea, and one that has precedence. No one remembers These Friends of Mine? How about The Seinfeld Chronicles?

Cougar Town doesn't fit the show at all.

But I agree, one of the best shows on the air right now, and you can tell that everyone involved in making it is having a blast.
