I heard about this show awhile ago and it's been delayed a very long time. Since this is launching so late in the season and only has 8 episodes, the impression I'm getting is this will be an 8 episode mini series similar to Harper's Island last summer.
It has a pretty decent cast. I am looking forward to it.

Some of the reviews I've read haven't been very positive, but I've got the DVR set...

I'm in. It has a Twin Peaks feel to it splashed with some October Road.

Yeah, something different. Anything that's not a crime-solving procedural, a reality show, or a Doctor or Lawyer drama gets an automatic look from me.
Unfortunately that means I check out very few new shows......

I really enjoyed the premiere. This is a show with great atmosphere. The show has a great mystery-vibe and I'm definitely intrigued.
I can't see this getting renewed though...too late in the year, not mainstream enough, etc. I really hope they are planning to do this like a miniseries and have a clear end in sight; I would hate to have this end unresolved.

Uhh...you'll find out if you watch the first episode.
I thought the episode was OK. The writing and acting were pretty corny at times and I really don't see the show going anywhere. It seems like it's going to be all about this "magic man". I'll watch again next week and see if it's any better.
