Re: Lost -- "Recon" -- 3/16/10
I liked this episode. Then again, I've always found Sawyer to be one of the most interesting characters on this show (next to Ben Linus).
It's obvious the eventual showdown between MiB/Widmore/Team Jacob is going to have causalities. Who those causalities are is the big question.
I smiled when Jin said "that is not Locke." I've been calling him Not-Locke all season.

I guess Widmore has the secret Black Smoke estinguisher weapon locked up in that room in the sub...
how do you kill a supernatural being and what is the point of having rifles?
ok, so the portable pileons may keep him from getting to theplane? lol the smokemonster gonna fly a plane off the island LOL

Re: Lost -- "Recon" -- 3/16/10
Worst episode of the season so far.
Next week's looks great though, and probably will actually have some answers considering...well, considering what was in the preview.
Also, the "who could it be?" moments in the off-island stories this season are really getting to be comical, especially when it's always completely obvious who it is. Two of them in this episode, gah!
Also, crazy Claire is seriously crazy.

Here's the only complaint I have at this point:
I like how they keep mentioning how many episodes are left. I think they're secretly making fun of us at this point. In the last year Darlton must have mentioned that we would get answers throughout the season a million times, and it seems like they arn't telling us jack at this point.
Character after character has appeared on the show in the last 6 years, and every time we saw someone new we would think that character could explain what the hell was going on. Of course not lol. I've waited three years for next weeks episode! If they manage to explain absolutely nothing again, I'm going to be upset!

Re: Lost -- "Recon" -- 3/16/10
At this point, all I want explained before the show ends are these questions:
1. What is the island?
2. Who are Jacob and Mib?
3. Why are Jack, Kate, Sawyer, etc. on the island?
4. What is the ultimate purpose of this whole thing?
I'd be fine with those answers. Given this is an Abrams series, some aspect of the show will remain a mystery.

So it's easier to navigate a sub then fly a plane?

This wasn't a great episode, but I did like the brief Widmore scene. I'm glad he's back as it ups the ante a little bit for control of the island. How DOES he know about fake Locke?
My guess is he does have some sort of way for killing him. He certainly appears confident that he's going to be able to gain control back of the island.
I am really looking forward to next week since we'll finally get Richard's back story. He is definitely the most intriguing character imo. Good to see that he'll get some major screen time next Tuesday.
Since I hate Claire so much, I was hoping Locke was going to slap her about 5 more times. But that 1 big slap certainly put a smile on my face.

Re: Lost -- "Recon" -- 3/16/10
I am no longer surprised or interested in anything that happens in the flash-sideways. They are simply dipping into their cast of characters and throwing them into the mix to get a reaction (oooo...there's Jack in the hospital...whoa, Miles and Sawyer are partners!) But I suppose it's just a what-if story and it doesn't have to make sense.
Pretty boring, though I always like Terry O'Quinn. I do feel bad however that he's not getting to end the series as Locke, but instead as this boring "bad guy" thing. His character deserved to make it to the end.

It was a really enjoyable episode, but when it ended the first thing I said outloud was 'this was it?'
There were no mysteries even attempted to really be addressed, of course, and the episode was good but not one of the greatest this season. Overall, I enjoyed it but think that things could be even better for the show and am curious how it is possible it is going to end to just a few weeks from now.
