Surprised to see the love. Pretty terrible episode all around. Once again, almost all the sketches were repeats.

Usually I can only pull a few minutes out of SNL that I find truly hilarious, for me this week had more minutes than most.

I watched the monologue, which I enjoyed, then started watching the wake skit. Hmm. An uncomfortably familiar family? Seen it done before on SNL, and assumed the rest of the show would be just as derivative. I changed the channel and never looked back.

Horrible sense of humor, Check.
It wouldn't be the first time. Years ago when he was doing one of the talk shows (Conan I think), he just pulled off his beard mid-interview without saying a word about it.

I thought the monologue and the bits where Zach was actually allowed to do something (bidet, crashing other show's sets, pageant) were good, although the pageant bit was saved by the performances, since the writing wasn't anything special. The rest of the time it just felt like he was there as a sight gag.

I was really looking forward to Zach... and while he blew JLo out of the water, he was way under-utilized. I still look forward to this show each week but I never quite know why.

Great show aside from the wake sketch. They need to reach out to Watkins and see if she's willing to come back and take Wiig's place. Watching her in skits is like scrapping nails on a chalk board. Heck, as much as I dislike her I'd even take Tina Fey over this crap.
What up with that! reminds me a lot of the mid-90s Nat X....usually in the second half of the show and despite the same skit, they find a way to make it funny. Rudd did look miserable out there...who in the hell was the critic?

Yeah, I'm sure they'll take your advice and get rid of the most popular and frequently used actor on the show. I'm surprised they didn't get rid of her after that embarrassing Emmy nomination last year.

What's Up with That! delivers every single time for me. Glad they finally have something for Keenan to do since for me at least he delivers the funny.

I don't ever watch SNL anymore, but my finacee was watching this the other night while I was doing other things. She picked it up during the funeral sketch and I just didn't find ANYTHING funny the whole rest of the show that I saw. Vampire Weekend (who I'd never heard before) was very good though.
*looks at SNL ratings* Yep, that's about what I'd expect.

As a Zach fan (... one who hasn't yet seen The Hangover), I was looking forward to his monologue. But, as I already established, I like Zach... so absolutely none of this was new for me.
