I don't know all the ins and outs either, but Indian Casinos can't just pop up everywhere any more than California can create cities in other states. Indians have been "given" land, and on that land, they are basically their own law. Think Washington, DC. I believe it's because the Indians make casinos legal on their own land that they can open them, not because some state says it is legal for Indians to open casinos. I have a friend from the Buffalo, NY area who is always going on about the Indian casinos in the area. There are other legal differences in those areas as well (not just casinos).

OK - that makes sense, although I would be surprised that they wouldn't be advertising in Boise to begin with. You'd think the anti-gambling forces would have been aggressively trying to prevent them from opening a casino from the start. It's only a couple hundred miles from Boise to the border.

To me a casino is a casino (even one that doesn't serve liquor which is what I guess a "Mormon casino" would be)....evangelicals in Idaho would presumably be against any kind of casino within the state (and everywhere for that matter) and fight it from the start.

I like where the show is going, but as the Trustee killed himself I was reminded of how that relationship started and how ridiculously coincidental that was. It's like the writers had an idea of how to push Albie to the brink, but didn't have a logical way of getting there, so they just decided to ignore logic.
Otherwise I very much enjoyed the episode, and I think unfortunately that Bill is right on about the DC lobbyist and that's really going to bite them in the ass.
