Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

I wonder if some of those pop-up factoids/guidances comes from points of confusion/contention they find on the message boards in the week between?

"Ok, people, as you know the episode you just watched and took notes on airs tonight. Make sure you hit the boards you're responsible for monitoring and come back with additional notes we should address. We'll reconvene Thursday afternoon with a list to sent Damon and Carlton and they'll get back with us Saturday. Then we have 2 days to create the enhanced version. Get some rest before then."

Since they insist on introducing us to new characters even at this late stage of the game, why don't they just bring in Mr. and Mrs. Exposition.

I'm pretty sure they have done this with Dogen and FJL/MiB/Esau. Have they started spilling their guts yet? No, why should they at this point in the context of the story.

It's obvious Dogen needs Jack alive, or else he wouldn't have bothered knocking the pill out of his esophagus. He was on Jacob's list, as was Sayid. Sayid dying caused a serious problem as evidenced by this alleged infection.

Either you buy what Dogen is selling or you don't. But to say that he should just come right out with everything in order to convince Jack and, by extension, us is a little premature. They have more pressing concerns.

It'll come when the trust is there.

And if I'm wrong and it doesn't by the end of the series, by all means, raze the ABC Studio offices to the ground.

In other words, a lot of stuff will just be left to your imagination.
I believe this is a good thing.

But who is this man? Perhaps he is merely the MiB in disguise, lying to the audience to deceive us. Or, more likely, it's entirely possible that he's Jacob, pretending to be a guy in a smoking jacket, so that we will think he's actually the MiB lying to us in order to influence our ideas about the show, only to find out later that he's actually Jacob, but in a separate timeline. Also, clones.

Umm, my post was a joke responding to an earlier post and referencing Monty Python. Do you need a link and a red carpet as well?

When will Boone, Shannon, Ana-Lucia, Charlie, etc. be resurrected as well?

They were buried (well, Charlie was at sea) and Smokey seems to only take the form of the dead left above ground.

Jesus fucking christ, people think just because you quote them you're responding to them instead of elaborating on it.

Spoiler:
This was a direct response, not an elaboration in case you were confused again.

Remember how important it was to Amy (Goodspeed) that the Others that attacked her bodies were buried before they went back to the Dharma Barracks with her dead husband's body?

I think you've got something there.

Or, "infect" those of the dead left above ground.

Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

I think one think to keep in mind is that there seems to be two distinctly different things happening here:

1) One seems to affect people who recently/mostly dead and then coming back to life possibly infected (Sayid and Claire) if Dogen is to be believed.

2) The other is that MIB/Smokey is taking the form of some people who are actually dead (possibly unburied) on the island without using their actual bodies (Locke, Yemi, Alex.)

So if MiB is taking the form of unburied Locke, what happens if Locke is buried?

The island sinks and everybody is knocked back to 2004 with no memories of what's occurred.

Yeah. I brought that up in last week's thread. Maybe we'll find out.

I don't think it matters because he died off the island. He's dead, just like Christian.

Re: LOST -- "What Kate Does" -- 02.09.2010

I'm not so certain that it is the MIB that is responsible for the "infection" that they're talking about on the show. Maybe Jacob was the middle man between MIB and another entity and had to be out of the way for MIB to further his cause which is to ultimately bring down his true nemesis.
