I agree that making Billy's kid personality in control of Captain Marvel is lame. That was like the aborted movie project for Captain Marvel, the writer pitched the character as the premise from Big. It was to be targeted towards pre-teens. I don't think it ever got past the script development stage.

Yeah I'm not crazy about this version of Captain Marvel, but then again just having him around for such an extended time in a series is cool. Plus, the show has so many other things it does "right", I can forgive the "Big" version of CM.

Looks like Warner Bros. is bungling the DVD/Blu releases as well. Bummer. No easy way for a new viewer to hop on board short of dropping $40+ on instant video on Amazon, and that's not happening.
Does anyone know if it's on Netflix in some fashion(streaming or disc)?

I was actually going to bump this thread because "season 2" starts up on Saturday. along with the new Green Lantern series. In quotes because this is essentially still season one, but they broke it up into 2 13 episode seasons instead of one long one.

Re: Young Justice League Animated Series in the works
I wonder why they decided to move their "action block" shows to Saturday morning?

No idea. Maybe more kids watching it? It was on Friday nights before.

According to my DVR, they're only showing the new episode of "Young justice" this week, but there is no episode scheduled for next Saturday or Sunday.

Why, Cartoon Network, why? Between this and Thundercats, I never know when they're going to show a new one.

I was able to watch every Thundercats episode via Comcast On Demand. Young Justice reruns are also being shown, starting with the first episode. Comcast cable subscribers should definitely check it out.

No wonder the CN shows get canceled. They dissapear for months at time. How do they expect people to even remember that they exist? I can't remember the last time a new one was on.

I was confused when I went to look at the episode list to find out the first season isn't even over yet.

JL: Doom, the new DC animated release on DVD/Blu, is very YJ-like in terms of animation. The Martian Manhunter design, which is far from iconic for that character, seemed to be the same to me, though the JL in "Doom" is obviously much smaller, and adds Cyborg (it's pretty much the new DC U lineup of JL minus Aquaman, I think). The main villain's design is also similar to his design in YJ.

Watched the first 2 episodes today. Not bad. I can't explain it but I'd always enjoy DC animation over Marvel yet I prefer Marvel comic over DC comic.

Animation looks circa 1992. Its not limited to TV series either. Even Marvel's animated features have poor production values.

a somewhat underwhelming return for YJ. probably since these weren't meant to be split up.

DC's animated offerings are head and shoulders above Marvel's. Animation, writing. voice talent. The clip below from the upcoming "Ultimate Spider-man" just highlights some of the problems with Marvels animation.

Re: Young Justice League Animated Series in the works
I actually liked this week's episode, but then again I'm a sucker for the DC magic characters. I actually thought the conceit of Captain Marvel being the only one who could travel between the child and adult world's fairly clever and fun.
