Seriously, there was a lot of awesome cleavage on display throughout the evening.
If only they would have made time for more of The Gervais.

I really think Cameron was hoping Bigelow would win.
Gervais showed the world why is is truly funny, but I still think the network cut some of his scheduled time.

worst decision I made ... watch the GG live and dvr 24
tried to playback 24 and while it recorded it won't playback
instead I sat through yet another boring awards show (and usually the GG are decent)
love that Waltz won, but listening to his speech only made it more clear that people just look/sound good rattling off QT dialog
and I didn't see it mentioned but clearly Cameron was flipping the entire viewing audience the bird during his first acceptance speech

The award should've gone to many of the other actors in the category, but his speech made for very good television, his performance as Sherlock Holmes is at least modestly deserving, and the COMBO of his win and presentation got a thumbs up from me. I'm not happy that his win was over Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Stuhlbarg, though.

Now that Avatar won Best Picture and Director, it makes the fact Zoe Saldana was snubbed for Be0st Actress all the more non-sensical.

I just went over my personal picks for all of the awards (except for "Made for TV" categories) and I agree with (out of the choices nominated):
Meryl Streep for Julie & Julia
Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds
Mo'Nique for Precious
Michael Giacchino for Up
"The Weary Kind," for Crazy Heart
The White Ribbon for Foreign Film
Mad Men for TV Drama
Michael C. Hall for Dexter
Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock
John Lithgow for Dexter
Chloë Sevigny for Big Love
So, that's 11 out of 22, exactly half.
2009: 11 out of 22
2008: 15 out of 22
2007: 11 out of 22

Probably a lot like the look on my face. I'm all for acknowledging the technology that "Avatar" represents, but it was a long, long slog watching it. Cameron has contributed enormously to motion pictures, I just don't think "Avatar" was his best nor was it the "best" of the year.

I'd not make too much of an effort to see this film. It was going straight-to-DVD, and for good reason. I was really (personally) underwhelmed. Not only is it very derivative (e.g. "Tender Mercies"), I thought Bridges really wasn't present for the performance (again, personally). He's one of our best actors and deserving of praise for past works, but "Crazy Heart" belongs on Lifetime. Maggie Gyllenhaal and a brief appearance by Colin Farrell made a bigger impression than Bridges here (again, personally).

Moment of the night, for me, was Deniro making fun of Scorsese for having sex with actual 35mm film.

Here's a compilation someone made of just the Ricky Gervais bits (which is the only thing I want to see from the GG):

As if 500 days of summer is something more than the same old rom-com crap with some bullshit indie cred that suckers the tween crowd into liking it.

Re: The 67th Golden Globe Awards -- Live Sunday 8pm ET/5pm PT on NBC
When Cameron, Reitman Tarantino, Bigelow, Jackson and the director of "Precious" (don't remember his name) all had breakfast together and Cameron made it clear that he's not into film festivals and catering to that audience, but instead looking outward to a global audience - something he reiterated in his speech for the film's win - Reitman clearly didn't enjoy Cameron's comments, having grown up the son of a "mainstream" director but himself a full-on film festival kind of guy. Tarantino is sort of in both worlds and seemed to have an easier time with that. Just my observation.
I'm kinda surprised about the box office for Avatar. Because when Titanic came out it was a movement. As for Avatar, I only know of one of my friends and family that has seen it. Obviously, that's not indicative of anything, it's just kinda shocking to me.
