I would think its the best job in the world, you get to entertain millions of people. You get to bring worlds to life. I mean they create things we all love or why would you be posting here? I dont know whats being a douche saying greatest job in the world. It is. Hes a great director. Gets to do what few get to, It would be awesome to be able to have a idea for a world or story and actually bring it to life.
I dont get some people on this board.

I love this tweet that just came through from Roger Ebert:
"Avatar" wins and I loved it, but...bleh.

You have to remember these winners are picked by the Holly Foreign Press Association. Who are they? No one f'in' knows!!!
That being said, I laughed pretty hard while watching The Hangover, and Avatar ended up at the top of my Top 10 list for 2009, so I can't say I'm all up in arms over their GG wins.

"Avatar" was also in my Top 10. But no way was it a better film than "Inglorious Basterds" or "The Hurt Locker". Also, I thought "Anchorman" was the funniest movie of 2004. But it certainly wasn't an award level film. Like Sex Fiend said above, the Golden Globes have officially turned into the People's Choice Awards.
The Hurt Locker is a one-n-done type of film, sure, well done, but can you really re-watch it over and over again. Avatar, OTOH, I could watch once a week and enjoy it each week (and this is coming from a guy who watches over 125 theatrical releases a year).

@ IB being "overwritten" in the same post that praises Avatar a film that has some of the most uncomfortable exposition ever seen.

Blecch. No love for (500) Days of Summer or The Hurt Locker, a win for Streep, a sappy Mo'nique speech, and further fellating of the box-office mark that's stealing the thunder from far better, smaller films.
Spoiler:

I guess it depends on the person. I've seen The Hurt Locker twice already, and I will gladly watch it again and again. I have no desire to watch Avatar ever again, I liked it, but I just have no urge to see it again. I gave it 7/10 - it's #35 on my list of 2009 films out of 199 films altogether for 09.

-Ricky Gervais is better than this show
-breast surgery has come a long way
-the state of tv comedy is shit
-many of the non-winners seemed really irked
-Martin Scorcese is the man
-I love Cameron's films, but man he seems like an elitist prick

IB suffers from QT's inability to pare down scenes, he overwrites far too much, much to the detriment of his film's pacing, and IB did not make my top 10 list, much less top 20 (I think). QT's films probably play out well in QT's mind, but when you have to sit there and listen to all that dialogue, it becomes a chore to sit through his films. He truly needs an editor with some teeth. Some of my friends call IB a 150 minute long knock-knock joke.
